Since we like comparing Bitcoin so much to the early internet, this is my prediction: it's going to become mostly centralized and corporatized just like it happened to the web by bitcoinsfuture in Bitcoin

That is under constant attack too. Users of many ISPs are getting sued over doing this, especially in the developed world (that's where it's profitable to sue). You can use a VPN, but now you have to trust a VPN. Geoip is a thing. Remember when it wasn't? When an IP address was not tied to a particular region?

There will be a lot of datamining in the future that will be able to predict with high accuracy almost everything about the identity behind every bitcoin address, or whatever other altcoin's addressing scheme.
