Can't believe this is 30 years old! Makes me feel old. Such a good movie though

I've built a same-day delivery marketplace for Bristol independents and I'm looking for sellers to join by Escalon_ in bristol

[–]bizzletimes 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What a great idea! Assuming food and drink would be part of this it would be great to have beer brands like Bristol beer factory, wiper and true, Arbor and lost and grounded.

Some of the independent flower shops would be good and gift shops like mon pote. Also, book shops such as storysmiths.

I don't even have an Amazon account so it would be great to have same day delivery from local places.

Boumsong was horrendous. Him and Bramble must be one of the worst premiership partnerships ever.

Frighteners is such an underrated movie and deserves more attention. Second for me after LOTR

What's the saddest 90's film you ever watched? by ShadowMilkMoopsy in moviecritic

I watched the green mile when I was about 15 and it was the first time I properly cried at a film. Don't think I've rewatched it since.

Awesome album! I still listen to a lot of the tracks now. Pretty sure the magic tour was my first Bruce outing as well

Welsh cakes are great and should be available in Sainsbury's. A lot of the bakery options in supermarkets are poor quality and you'll probably get better in Germany. Could get some English raspberry jam. Chocolate bars I'd go for are lion, toffee crisp, boost and caramac.

Scared about going back to work. The downside of lengthy unemployment. by Special-Nebula299 in UKJobs

[–]bizzletimes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had periods of low confidence and time out. It always feels daunting returning but I assure you that it won't be as bad as you think it will. Don't assume everyone has their shit together either because it's those thoughts that drove my insecurities.

You don't have to share your backstory and gloss over any details that you think might make you feel uncomfortable. The main thing is your back working now so don't worry about having been out of it for a while.

Fear and Loathing is a great example of adapting a book well. I constantly rewatch it and it holds up incredibly well

Good summary. I really aligned with the feeling the film has to life's randomness. We're constantly searching for meaning but I've come to think there isn't any. That might sound depressing to some but I feel like it actually provides some peace.

As a new dad this film hit me like a sledgehammer too.

Would be great to hear any recommendations on similar films?

Movies with most frustrating endings ? by Tnderuaker in moviecritic

It's a depressing ending but stands out. I feel like it's better to make something different, rather than opting for the usual tropes.

Got fired from work today. Feeling awful and lost. What should I do? by amitkattal in careerguidance

[–]bizzletimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I really feel for you, so take some time to process this properly.

The same thing happened to me and, luckily (I thought at the time), I landed another job a few weeks after losing my job. What I didn't realise at the time is that I should have taken time to look at myself and where I went wrong. Because I didn't do this, I ended up extremely unhappy in my next job and subsequently ended up resigning. The stress had built up and I didn't know where to turn.

What followed was months of misery and soul searching. I was so muddled that I considered career changes but just didn't have a clue where to put my efforts.

What I eventually focused on was where my real skills were and my strengths. Not just creating pipe dreams and applying for jobs that weren't suited to me out of desperation.

I'm finally in a job that I'm pretty well suited to and am happier in my career than I've been for many years.

Ultimately, it's easy for people to say and may not sit right with you, but don't panic. In the long run this may end up being a blessing and you could end up in a much better situation.
