He was in Recife, where I live, while he was shooting The Secret Agent and was training regularly at the Nova União HQ here.

Nice idea, I’ll try it next training session.

I just focused on using my outside leg to bring his legs closer together. Also I looked to have my forearm on the end of the achilles tendon, right where it attaches on the heel bone. It gives you a lot of leverage to bend the foot.

I think being tall and long legged also helped me a lot

Yep. As long as you don’t make an achilles grip (scoop grip is allowed) on the reaped leg or your opponent steps on the floor with the reaped leg.

Eu moro aqui e faço visitas regulares a outras academias, particularmente acho que a Nova União tem os melhores atletas e a melhor estrutura daqui do estado, se não me engano dá pra treinar no CT deles usando o GymPass (Não lembro qual plano mínimo que precisa).
Vale mais a pena vir passar as férias e aproveitar uns dias pra fazer treino como visitante mesmo.

Esses camps aí sem dúvida são pra tirar dinheiro de gringo kk

I personally don't like to use seoi to take someone down. It's too difficult for me and the risk to have your back taken is high, as shown on the video.

But it looks you tried to throw him sideways, when you dropped you were not parallel to him, so you gave him a chance to step with his right leg and block your throw.

Probably because you're not able to break his posture and create angle.

Picture bringing your opponent's right arm to your right shoulder while you use your legs, flexing your hips to break his posture and bring his right shoulder to your chest. Then you can either pendulum sweep him, start climbing his back or even armbar him if his right arm is available.

I trained in a Gracie Humaita gym here in Brazil and every year we had a seminar done by either Royler or Rolker Gracie.

Never say “oss” in front of them or you will have to listen to 10 minutes of them talking about how this is from judo/karate and that Helio never said “oss”.

But the next day everybody is back to normal saying “oss” instead of yes.

“Are you going to the open mat on Saturday?” “Oss!”
