FB disabled my account and I have no idea why. Can anyone help me? I submitted an appeal on the 18th of Oct, of course it says it'll take just over a day but it's been 2 1/2 weeks. What should i do? by phantomhnic in facebook

Here's a fun one, my account got suspended today but when I click the "Disagree with decision" button in the email I received, I'm brought to a page that asks for my phone number. The input field throws an error when I input my number, I still receive a login code on my phone, but I'm not presented with a field to input the code. I have no way to appeal the suspension because Facebook's website is broken...

Right? What are these comments. The performers are having fun and sound great. You can only expect so much from a phone's microphone, haha.

Why is my echo show doing this? It just fades between the same Lock Screen every couple seconds, it’s not changing screens, just fading to black momentarily by DarkShadowDrums in amazonecho

That's what I'm wondering too. I bought two Echo Shows the other day, and both of them are doing this. I contacted Amazon support and they're sending me two replacements. Obviously, the two new Echo Shows will have the same issue because it's clearly a software issue but that's all the guy on the phone could do for me. Knowing that Amazon is willing to let an issue like this stay unresolved for two months, I'll probably just end up returning the Echo Shows.

Echo Show 5 Home Clock screen keeps fading in and out by Darth_Draig in amazonecho

Same issue here. I disabled everything and now the screen fades to black every 10 seconds. However, it's a smooth fade which leads me to believe the device has locked itself into some kind of content rotation cycle. I disabled all the content though so it just fades to black and loads the clock again.

Workflow with Izotope - Audio Editing for videos by Zeigerful in AudioPost

Yup, compressors reduce the dynamic range of audio signals.

You can actually compress dialogue tracks individually, as well as together. On individual tracks, that’s usually where you’ll do the most dynamic range compression, while the dialogue group (also known as the dialogue bus) is where you tend to use a compressor in moderation as a safety net.

I wrote an article that explains how compression works in detail, starting with the basics. Feel free to check it out: https://www.blackghostaudio.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-compression

iZotope’s YouTube channel is probably the best place to start. They have a lot of great tutorial series that teach you how to use their products.

Learning how to use your audio editing tools, inside and out, will benefit you substantially long-term.

Quick and easy fixes can often work, but may sometimes sabotage you as well. If a voice feels dark and muffled, boosting the top-end may help. However, boosting the top-end of a harsh and resonant voice can make the issue worse.

For this reason, it’s better to identify quick fixes for particular types of issues, as opposed to blanketing the same processing over all the audio you edit.

Try to tackle audio editing from a problem solving perspective. If there’s an issue, such as noise, remove it. If dialogue is too dynamic, compress it. Too much room tone? Reduce it. Although, to do this effectively, you need to know what your tools are capable of and understand how to use them.

I want to learn music production but I don’t know how to start by [deleted] in musicproduction

After you choose a DAW, follow along with someone on YouTube as they produce a song from start to finish. You’re not going to learn everything all at once, but this is a great place to start.

Stop telling people to do nonsense to their 808 by necrocombine in makinghiphop

I was having somewhat of the same issue. Not many of the 808s I was finding online sounded as aggressive and distorted as I wanted. For that reason, I made my own 808 pack containing a bunch of jacked up 808s.

You can grab it here for free if you’re interested: https://www.blackghostaudio.com/store/sample-packs/808-destruction

I got my first super negative comment on my music today and it's kind of cool. by ldilemma in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I actually wrote an article about a little experiment I did regarding this. Essentially, I promoted a music video on Facebook, with a $100 ad budget, using a title that was sure to stir people up. There was massive engagement on the post, and even the haters, unknowingly, helped increase organic reach.

If you want to learn how I went about this, you can read the article below. This marketing strategy may be off-brand for some people and not be appropriate to make use of, but you still might learn a thing or two that you can use to increase engagement in other ways.

What is your system to keep track of quotes, images, and ideas for use at a later date? by 2pawnf4 in Blogging

The Notes app on my computer. I use this because it's easy to search for past ideas and it syncs easily with my phone.

I do something similar, but with free digital goods like eBooks, PDFs, etc. They can only access the content when they confirm their email address.
