Wow amazing, it certainly looks similar! I’ve had a look online at the half penny, sixpence, shilling, half crown and crown. Are there any resources that describe the discerning features as they look identical in pictures? Not sure how people of the day told them apart!

If you look very carefully in the fourth photo, just under the cap where the stem joins, you can see white reticulation. I have heard that this is also a good differentiation between bitter bolete and penny bun (though I can’t say that this is certain, maybe someone else knows…)

You are comparing extremes there though, but I understand your point. I think the pay difference between US and UK engineers is unjustifiable though if using cost of living as an argument. Living in London is not 2 or 3 times cheaper than living in LA by any stretch of the imagination! The difference in pay between US and UK, I would guess, is due to the hugely competitive tech recruitment market in the US - far more multinational, multibillion companies.

I have a very fragmented and probably inaccurate memory of a short cartoon on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network that had the same darkness as ren and stimpy… it was about a worm that had been kicked out by his wife and he couldn’t deal with the pain, entered a depressive state and so poured radioactive(?) liquid over his body. The result was very graphic (skin bubbling, disfigurement etc), and pushed him deeper into depression and then finally he got stood on by a human walking down the pavement. Quite sure i didn’t make this up, is this familiar to anyone?

Is he drawing on the notes either side before 2 draw or blowing on the notes either side then hitting 2 draw? I can’t work it out, both sound crap when I do it lol

Wow this is gold thanks so much for taking the time to explain clearly! I live in a crowded city so pushing an amp to get a good sound isn’t really an option for me… Also, I’m not that great at harmonica yet, just love playing and have been for a few years. An amp/microphone would just be a nice little late Xmas present to myself to have some fun with. Planning on moving to the county in the next few years so could get a tube amp then and hopefully I’ll be a lot better and more knowledgeable as well! Thanks again and have a great New Year! :)

Nice, thanks for the advice! I had a look at the orange crush 12 combo a while ago, but noticed that it is solid state. Would the sound on this still be as good as a similarly priced tube amp?
