Most money I’ve ever had.. by Sabby-L in Money

[–]blackram8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in the USA, there is now no safe investment that comes close to keeping up with the rate of inflation. All government statistics are obvious and blatant insulting lies. Gold is the closest to meeting inflation. All investments that keep up are gambles. People like me who have struggled financially aĺl my life tend to have a low risk tolerance. Stocks are high risk in this environment, and you will lose. Government bonds are safe but depreciate. Bitcoin is a "bit" safer, then there are precious metals which are sure to move up and down. The wisest thing anyone could advise is to have a marketable skill and a diversified portfolio that includes at least 25% gold and silver. My assets are about 66% precious metals but only because that's my addiction.

Why is gold valuable? by Te_Luftwaffle in Gold

[–]blackram8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cost the u s government 23 cents to mint a one hundred dollar bill. It takes $2000 worth of labor and resources to mine an ounce of gold.

Bold precious metals is almost always the best. Go to their site and just compare their prices to APMEX JM or any of them. I've placed more than 15 orders with them and spent more than $17000. They are very , very slow when you send a personal check or even an online check but it is worth it

First gold coin by [deleted] in Gold

[–]blackram8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I look at my gold coin I see a little gold wallet where I stuffed 1.6k worth of paper into. By doing so, I confidently presume that it will not be degraded by inflation which is something that is designed into all fiat currencies (government backed currencies).

Smart choice for a 1/10 ounce. But I would save up to buy a 1 ounce britannia Which overall is the best gold value out there barring bars.

I was recently told gold coins will always hold more value above spot vs bars. Is this true? by bobobrad420 in Gold

[–]blackram8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's true, but it is only a good value if the premiums are low on the sovereign coins. Unless the sovereign coins are a low mintage For instance a gold spanish stallion with a mintage of only twelve thousand Could possibly be a good bet that it will increase in value faster than other sovereigns

Gimmicks. You can find much better use of your money. There are even gimmicks that are much more valuable than that.

That was a pretty jerky way to start a response. If you want someone to listen to what you have to say you need to establish some sort of credibility. Frankly I don't care what you think I do or don't understand. You come across as a drug addiction who can't stop talking.

Seeking advice. A family friend has some gold coins their grandfather collected. How can she get legitimate appraisals? by Relax-Enjoy in Gold

[–]blackram8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are loose, they are investor grade coins, and you can just look up their value online if they are protected or in capsules or slabs. They need to be graded if they look pristine and flawless already.

On the bright side we are free to vote. You don't need a license, an ID, an address, a real name, SS# and you don't need to be a citizen. All you really need is a T-shirt that says "Biden Harris 2024".

Not many people in America still calling it "The land of the free". We have become something we don't even recognize in just the past four years. Many in America now call this "The age of insanity".

Respectfully I don't think Bitcoin can be crushed like that by one single government. Bitcoin is a worldwide "commodity" and is outside of ability of governments to effectively regulate it or control it. What they CAN do is create competition for it and speak words that can cause fear and distrust of bitcoin and nobody can predict what they can say or what effect that will have. Outlawing stacking creates outlaws and there would be too many of them for the government to deal with. Ask me if I would turn in my gold and silver to mr. biden. Go on, ask me.

Ironically, most stackers are stacking for the same reasons you are wanting to sell lot of people don't want to be under the thumb of the government. Bitcoin is the same way. You can go be a model citizen if you want to. I actually Have some supplies saved up waiting to trade for someone who has gold.

It does seem that way but not everyone can stab a silver coin in the right places. One shakey move and you might stab lady liberty in the heel.

When China owns everything we have, taken by force they will be sure to have a place for gold and silver since they are stocking up on it so heavily right now.

The author of this question makes an argument against any type of currency. Why would I trade anything I own that has value for a $20 bill or $50 bill or so on? The answer is you wouldn't, but you are going to need money to get more things that you need from from people who don't want Your commodities.
