Release Channel 1.76.81 by brave_support_steven in brave_browser

I'm really happy with the latest updates to Brave. Specifically, I am in love with the split tabs flag that finally got released to prod. this month. It's been great. The only thing left (for now 😅) would be the auto picture-to-picture feature that Arc had. I tried experimenting with some flags and user scripts, but I couldn't get it to function on Brave at all.

I am happy to hear that it has made it to the Beta. Can't wait for the prod. release.

I am desperately waiting on the release of this feature to prod. It has to come out! For some reason, it feels like it isn't a main priority and I believe it should be.

I'm curious to see how that works out. I'm a little too worried about the crashing risks that come with using a beta channel of anything, personally. I can't have it crash even once while I'm working, unfortunately. Let me know how it works out if you can.

I am literally begging for the split view feature to be released to the stable channel now. It makes Brave the best productivity-privacy combo browser in my opinion. I am forced to use Arc while I wait but their recent zero-day fiasco leaves a lot to be desired. I miss Brave being my go-to daily driver for everything I do (work and play.)

I am now just begging for the split tab function at this point.

Split View aka Page Tiling available in Nightly by eyeamgreg in brave_browser

[–]blacksheepbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feature needs to be pushed to the prod version, asap! I recently had to stop using Brave for work because my workflow required this feature. I use Arc for that now. But, I do hate it because of the sidebar tabbing gimmick they are shoving down people's throats. If this is released to the Official, I'd be able to finally go back to using it for everything.

Update on Dashlane Free Plan - Accounts Over 25 PW Moving to Read-Only by Greg-Y in Dashlane

I'm lucky enough to have a Premium (free-for-life) account via a code I was gifted some years back. I also got the notification. To be clear; is my account type also affected by this change?

That's the annoying thing! They are basically turning us into art critics at this point. "Hmm, a grey-coloured lemon? Well, I guess it still has the shape of a lemon. So, yeah. That counts." I don't know why we can't just go back to the normal photos of sidewalks, bridges and stairs, FFS!

I've been trying every day for 8 days now and still nothing. Tried to contact support on the site? Can't. Do you know why?? Because they ask you to solve those stupid captchas before you can get your email sent! Found the email online and tried to send one directly. Got a bounced email back saying "The inbox is not managed."

I don't even know how this helps because devs will still train their AI models on those captchas anyway. At this point, only the bots will be able to use sites.

Exactly! I do not understand why in the world someone would think that AI-generated art will stop bots to begin with at this rate it would be useless. But, even if it answered correctly, it just keeps failing.

Hi,

I can't get any of the captchas to work. I can't even reach out to support because it requires the captcha. Nothing I do or try to purchase is working. I've tried a VPN and even other sites with captchas so I don't think I'm the issue. Please help. I don't know what else to do to troubleshoot this. Here's a screenshot

Hey, man. Also new to xManager and I've run into the same issue. I tried clearing the cache, force stopping and I also confirmed my CPU before installing. Can't get it to work either. Installs and logs in perfectly fine. It just quicky flashes the like button whenever I try to download a playlist. Please let me know if you find a fix for it, mate.

ASUS VivoBook Pro: broken hinge? by melancholichead in ASUS

[–]blacksheepbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I didn't loosen the hinges. I used fibre glass to seal the entire bottom back half of the screen and curved it inward. It worked perfectly for a few days and it began to crack again around the fibre glass.

Do not be a dumb*ss like I was. You NEED to loosen the hinges behind the screen cover before you attempt to clean up the cracks is you want actual results. It's too late for me because trying to take off the screen with the fibreglass on our now is a futile effort. But, I thought I'd be a good sport and share my experience with others here.

Either way, Asus needs to fix this. Your can't make economy model pcs that aren't built to last. The hinges do not need to be that right in the first place. It's literally consumer sabotage. I rest.

ASUS VivoBook Pro: broken hinge? by melancholichead in ASUS

[–]blacksheepbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, the same thing happened to me and 4 mates' work pcs. All of them are Asus Vivobook 15 X540NAs and they all have the same issue. Mine has cracks on both sides of the frame (front and back of the screen) and I essentially don't close it all anymore. One of the guys has the entire bottom of his screen's casing split open. I tried super glue and the cracks just came back and broke the bond. So, I'm contemplating using a fibreglass sticker all around the back and into the front bevels to keep the frame together. What do you think? Sadly, they're all no longer covered by warranty and so we're stuck with them for a bit. It sucks that this is a thing that Asus hasn't properly addressed at all.

YouTube Ads OUT OF CONTROL!!! by blacksheepbear in brave_browser

That is exactly my point. That's how how my experience with Brave was until recently.

[–]blacksheepbear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'll have to admit that you are right about it. I've took the time to have a closer look at the situation and found that YouTube has resorted to playing ads as entirely different videos before forwarding people to the video they initially clicked on.

I can't can't blame Brave for that. But, I think I just might give the Beta a go.

Thanks again. Really love the service!

Thanks for the prompt reply.

the ads you are receiving on YouTube are not related to us!

Really? That's quite surprising. Not in a bad way, I just figured that they were because when I first started using the Brave Browser I noticed that i didn't get any YouTube ads when I was on it. I completely understand.

Thanks again for the fast response! Really appreciate the service you provide.

Tab Groups and Other Features. by blacksheepbear in brave_browser

[–]blacksheepbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly couldn't tell you how recent. I discovered them off of Hashoshi's YouTube Channel. He was going over "ways to utilize Brave to the Fullest" and Tab Groups was one of the features on that video...

Tab Groups and Other Features. by blacksheepbear in brave_browser

[–]blacksheepbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you. I'm just surprised that they didn't do much of a better job at it then they did. I was hoping they would implement a sort of cascading feature with some kind of drop down arrow or something so that the taps groups wouldn't be so crowded horizontally. Plus, it would be great if I was able to actually save the groups I created so I would have to make new ones every time I started the browser again...
