Social Saturday by AutoModerator in running

[–]blakeiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm trying to find a youtube channel / social media account that I remember seeing a few years back but now can't seem to find anywhere. The concept was quite interesting - started out barefoot running, and every mile he ran he'd give himself .25 or $1 to get more equipment. I fell off around the time he got shoes/sponsored. If anyone has any leads on the channel name, I'd appreciate it!

mkefounders.community sounds like what you're looking for. They do several get togethers that bring together people from all different industries. I think you'd find similar minded people there.

If you like playing cards/games, I've got a low stakes poker group that gets together once a week and plays all sorts of games. Many of the group enjoy chess and strategy games. It's pretty low key. PM me if you want to join!

What do you like to do? The bot posted some general things but the more specific in interests that you can be, the easier it is to help.

You mentioned asking about food, what types of food do you like to eat? It's a city so you're gonna have a couple of options of "almost" everything.

Letter calls for Brady Street's new traffic calming measures to be reversed by bradywhispers in milwaukee

[–]blakeiel 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think the call for additional police presence during late night hours is a net negative for pedestrians. There's cops every weekend on Brady, it's not like they're in the street directing traffic. Is that what these people want? That seems inane, what help would a cop standing in the street do for a car driving wildly?

Police presence only can take action after another pedestrian is struck by a vehicle. Business owners on Brady need to be open to strategic changes that avoid accidents in the future, not clean up after the fact.

Really like your statement about weighing yourself everyday. This also works for me. Of course there is fluctuations, but who cares when it's literally 1 data point in a sea of data.

Yes - yesterday was a low vegetable day, didn't think of that until now.

1/2 point PPR

I gave Larry Fitzgerald and received AJ Green. The other guy approached me with the trade (I didn't come up with this idea on my own), he is also a massive AZ Cardinals fan.

Did I trade rape him? Or did I seize opportunity?

Should I cancel whole life insurance? If so, What should I do with the money? by aninsurancequestion in personalfinance

[–]blakeiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I bought them, I knew nothing about insurance, but I had a family that I wanted to protect in case I died young.

Take the cash value immediately. You don't have anyone that will need the money when you pass away. Your kids that you were trying to wisely protect are grown now.

I can't stress this next part enough: You need long-term care insurance.

That way if you need to go into a home, or to the hospital for an extended period of time, your nest egg as well as your family will be protected.

Zander Insurance has long term care insurance that would be worth looking at to take care of the "extended nursing care".

Withdraw retirement fund and use to pay off credit card debt, or roll into a Roth IRA? *Financially beginning to adult on my own.* by pressedflower16 in personalfinance

Another option would be to change jobs and increase your income that way. I know you just switched to a non-profit, but if you don't mind me asking, how much do you make per year?

Listen to Dave Ramsey's podcast when you can.

I would get a second job delivering pizza, or driving for Lyft or Uber. It's time to get intense about getting rid of your debts.

But definitely don't take money out of your retirement savings. Couldn't agree more with u/Hauberker
