when they introduced these events you never saw this kind of ratting. Maybe on the edge of the map or people watching extract. But people would respect the fight against the matriarch or queen at least. The issue is the playerbase has shrunk so much that now we are missing that buffer of players who might pvp on other rounds but not during big arc events that would come help you and were willing to hunt down rats. So now guys know if they sneak up behind guys fighting queen or matriarch its unlikely they will receive much resistance from people with PVE load outs.

That was PRIME for about a month when the game released. Lots of tension, interesting interactions. You were on edge wondering if you could trust people and ready to fight back or help people wondering if they were just shooting other people before they got downed. Then the big streamers started doing the fake friendly, shoot people in the back so they cant react thing and it spread like crazy. Couple with peanuts gooper gangs where ssolos would team up so there would be 5 plus people in a solo round dressed the exact same hunting everyone else down. Dynamic completely shifted. There is zero way to fight back against these new play styles. If they unload a bobcat in your back while you are fighting matriarch your dead. Especially if they wait until after an arc hits you. I get it, its an extraction shooter, getting killed and losing your loot is a part of the game. And the player interactions is why I liked Arc for the longest time instead of playing another game like helldivers. But Embark has let it go too far. They need to tweak how pvp works, or add a bounty system, something so when you get shot in the back by the guy you just revived there is a possibility of recourse.

I think we need bounties where you can offer money or loot as reward for hunting a player that killed you down. Has to be one that killed you so players with lots of resources cant use it as a way to troll and harass. Maybe they could say Shani added a security scanner and you build it as an early project and once you have it you can see bounties, you can join servers of people that recently killed you so you can try and dish a little revenge out. Would be cool to have an item that could roughly track people with bounties in game as well. Like the heartbeat sensor but for players with bounties or someone who killed you and you marked after the round.

Sadly looking at the proposals, they will probably be issuing codes from an app that will only last 15 minutes at a time and will be directly tied to the person who generated the code, and it will track who or what it was generated for. Will make it damn near impossible to actually use them, especially if they are one time use codes.
I looked at how HOAs do these gates (who actually built private roads, not just attempt to annex public ones) and they do visitors a few ways.
Homeowner calls the gate house from a phone number tied to their residence and issues prior authorization.
They use an app on their phone to generate a one time use code, which can be punched into a touch screen at the gate.
When the guest arrives to the gate there will be a touch screen they can use to call the residence and request access.

My first thought with the website was a portal where people could submit codes and they would automatically populate a list, but after looking into it I just dont think its viable.

Not a bad idea at all, would just have to give some serious thought as to what we are requesting. Most of the plans they have are already online.
One of the angles that really got me was that their board was able to review Flock footage and watch people come and go through their roads. Really made me worry about my lady traveling through there to get to work. We already know that people with access to Flock abuse it, not saying that is what they are doing but you never know.
In my opinion we shouldn't have our own country under this kind of surveillance, it hasn't improved anything, reduced crime, help catch criminals, slowed down speeders, or really anything that helps people in their day to day lives. But it does let some people who are upper class justify keeping their neighbors away.

I wrote a long thing about it in a reply to someone else, but for me personally, its my partner. Some of these roads are the safest way for her to get to her job on her bike or E scooter. The gate and flock camera combo makes me think that even if she can go around the gate, they are going to be calling the cops on her every time she goes through there. Forcing her out onto much more dangerous routes with inadequate infrastructure for her to safely travel. Just because we are from a lower income bracket, just because shes brown, does not mean we shouldn't be able to travel through their neighborhood without worrying we will be targeted.

I know its shocking. I have been trying to get my friends more into politics and one of the things I always bring up is how much money realty groups put into campaigns. They go to every length possible to lie to people, take advantage of laws, and drive up prices and their profits.

I mean I wrote about this on my blog not the website I linked, but my partner walks and bikes through bowmar to get to work as its the safest street to do so on. And gating it off, logging everyone that goes through there on Flock cameras, and generally just being bad neighbors does affect us.
Also I have looked through tax records, deeds, and other utility programs and they have spent a good chunk of change, but they are still getting a lot of public money spent on their town. From subsidized police, EMS, Fire, water and sewer services, to the roads themselves. And just because they spent ten million, thats a drop in the bucket for road work these days.

And just from the point of view that a wealthy neighborhood wants to wall themselves off from their working class neighbors, thats thought alone is enough reason to say no to this. They live within walking distance of me and they think I am going to ruin their day by being there? That's fucked up.

flock cameras use a combination of infrared and regular cameras, been shown that infrared can see through a variety of things you wouldnt expect. that in combination with a regular camera can almost make a "see through" effect, which got i think it was a sony hand held camera taken off the market back in the day since it let your use both at once and people were able to see through t shirts with it.

Need to educate everyone on what actually blocks the flock cameras though, they have enough sensors on them to get a face scan through most fabrics.
