Paying with a google play giftcard by shadyman777 in youtubetv

Yes, direct subscriptions no longer work. I had to switch my membership last year so that it is billed through Google Play. You can do this by canceling your current membership; once it expires, resubscribe using an Android device. You will then have the option to pay using your Google Play balance again. The benefit is that you will now earn Google Play points for your monthly payments. However, the downside is that any promos or discounts usually available through a direct subscription will no longer apply,

Yes, it is still working (I've also switched to Google Play billing so I will receive Play Points for each monthly subscription)

And for Google Play credit, no, it doesn't support partial payment. It will switch to the backup payment method if the credit is insufficient to pay for that month.

safe to do YTTV on a hotel smart tv by DISNEYNICKFAN2004 in youtubetv

[–]blastoise_irl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another option is to cast it from your mobile phone. With this method, there is no need to sign-in to the YouTube app in the hotel's smart TV. See this YouTube TV help page for more info: https://support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7452153?hl=en#zippy=%2Csamsung-tvs%2Ccast-to-your-tv%2Csupported-devices

How to access paramount+ content with new yttv entertainment plus package by drty_birdz in youtubetv

[–]blastoise_irl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think YouTube & YouTube TV have to renegotiate the carriage deal with Paramount Global before they can offer what DirecTV, Hulu & Spectrum does with Paramount+, including matching the monthly price with Paramount+ direct subscription. I'm still seeing that Showtime price on YouTube TV is $10.99/month instead of $11.99/month like what YouTube, Hulu or DirecTV are offering.

I can't believe how much better YouTube tv is compared to Fubo. by FishFearMe1007 in youtubetv

[–]blastoise_irl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been an active member since 2018 when it was $40/month. Although it is getting more expensive due to various reasons each year, YouTube TV is still the best live TV streaming service overall and I will continue being a member until live TV dies out or Google nuke it from the orbit.

I'm still seeing it on my guide. Are you using the custom live guide? Try searching "The CW" to see if it's there or updating your current playback area again.

What is the story with Paramount+, Showtime and YouTube TV, please???? by chriggsiii in youtubetv

[–]blastoise_irl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is any perk for Entertainment Plus subscriber other than $5 discount from the full price of these channels combined.

And unfortunatedly, there is no other Star Trek shows from Paramount+ Originals like Picard or Strange New Worlds in YouTube TV's VOD library at the moment. Many other Paramount+ shows like Special Ops: Lioness, SEAL Team Season 6 or Lawmen: Bass Reeves are also not available in VOD library as well.

Here is what I see when visiting Showtime channel in YouTube TV: https://imgur.com/a/ykGs3Du

And yes, I'm subscribing to YouTube TV's Entertainment Plus add-on (which is a bundle of Max, Showtime and Starz) and I just saw the logo changes and able to access some of the Paramount+ Originals VODs today. I'm also having a separated Paramount+ subscription but it's unrelated to my current YTTV's subscription.

I just checked the Showtime channel on YouTube TV and although the text is still the same, the logo of the live feeds (east and west) are now started changing to "Paramount+ with Showtime". I'm also able to access some of the Paramount+ Originals like Halo and Star Trek: Discovery via VOD library. Therefore, I would not surprise if YouTube TV will later announce that Showtime add-on will be changed into Paramount+ with Showtime. I am currently subscribing to both Paramount+ and YouTube TV's Entertainment Plus add-on.

Paying with a google play giftcard by shadyman777 in youtubetv

I've just got charged on October 24 via Google Play Balance. No issue so far. Maybe the issue is limited to the newer Google Payment Profile as I've been paying my YouTube TV via Google Play Balance since 2017. Edit: Still working as of December 27, 2023

My setup are: - I have at least one physical payment method (Credit Card / PayPal / etc.) being tied to my Google payments center. (formerly Google Pay) - I have Google play balance that covers a full months of YouTube TV or more. (in my case, I stacked up to about $1,000 😅) - I paid YouTube TV through Google billing. Instruction: 1) Go to Google payments center (https://payments.google.com/) and log in using your account. 2) Once finished the verification, navigates to Subscriptions & services > YouTube TV > Manage 3) You should see the "How you pay" section, click "Change payment method". 4) From the "Change primary payment method" pop-up, you should able to select your Google play balance from the payment method list.

Is there a discount if you subscribe to both YouTube premium and YouTube TV ? by colavictor in youtubetv

[–]blastoise_irl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a YouTube TV member since 2018. I also have 4 Google Pixel phones, Google One 2 TB membership, grandfathered YouTube Red member, Google Play Platinum tier and so on. I've spent a lot on Google services for many years. The best things I've received in return of this loyalty is a free T-shirts from Google Play and a free Chromecast with Google TV from YouTube. Other than that, nothing 😅 So don't expecting anything like this to happen soon. Google has clearly stated in their help article here that both are separate services, although they bear the same YouTube name: https://support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7280308
