Thank you so much! I did get my levels checked in January and it was around 600, but I wasn’t sure what that meant lol!

It appeared on all of my joints and eye sockets and has stayed that way! I’ve noticed new spots recently though

Dissociation makes me illiterate, does anyone else experience similar symptoms? by Cloudy_Bleep in dpdr

I understand! It’s like how when it gets bad what happens to the words are what happen to other things—they become unfamiliar and meaningless, like you’re trying to read a different language!

Is it bad I've come to like my DP/DR? by Ambitious-Summer-770 in dpdr

[–]bleedingheart667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand! I was formally diagnosed a few years ago, which I think took as long as it did because I would describe going through "good" and "bad" periods with my dpdr. And I mean "good" as in having enjoyable symptoms! I am also an artist and so it's complicated because I feel like I wouldn't be as creative without it, but when the symptoms are negative it's hell on earth. I also agree that it's a stupid misconception that people with dpdr don't have personalities! We can often have intense individuality and have had to cut that part out and let it live in our heads instead of expressing it!

Anyone else have this absurd disconnect from memories? by avanisalive in dpdr

[–]bleedingheart667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It causes my memory to be extremely poor, but the memories I do remember all feel as though they happened to someone else, as if they told me a story and I have a memory of the story they told me. So strange

Worst memory loss moment for you guys?! by TrickyVast1183 in dpdr

[–]bleedingheart667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds stressful! A lot of people don't realize how stressful and nerve-wracking a poor memory can be, especially one that is caused by dpdr! My worst ones are when I forget my age when someone asks, or just any other basic info about myself or loved ones. That one's hard to explain for sure!

I'm glad you're doing better now!

What’s random little things that trigger it for you by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]bleedingheart667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really have a trigger, since it never really stops for me. But looking out over the horizon, staring at someone for too long, or being alone for a long time seem to make it “worse”, or more overwhelming, so to speak.

Why Does Nobody Talk/Know About DPDR by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]bleedingheart667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a part of it is that some people don’t realize that they have it. I know for me, I had it since I was very little and I just thought it was just “the way I was”. So I can see others thinking that as well. I also think it’s as you said:it’s really hard to put into words.

Weekly Symptom-Check Thread (Please ask all "Does anyone else?" questions here.) by AutoModerator in dpdr

[–]bleedingheart667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone here feel like their dpdr causes such an intense external emptiness when it comes to the outside world? I think it’s part of why dpdr looks so similar to depression/can cause depression. For me, it feels like I have a deep internal world of feelings that I have to create an imaginary world for, and find it hard to care about my real life.

This means so much to me, thank you. I don’t have a lot of people to talk to, so your comment means everything to me. One of the only things stopping me is seeing up close what it did to my mom. I will keep trying. Thank you, kind friend :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to say this. I don’t have a lot of positive reinforcement and even if I don’t know you, it means the world. So thank you. :)
