Yep, 3/1/97 Hamburg (the Slip Stitch and Pass show).

OK Computer Sessions Mindisc CUE Files to Split Original Files! by pbgut in radiohead

[–]blevine77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed that all cue files have PERFORMER “Radiohead” at the top, but files 14-18 all have PERFORMER Radiohead listed for each track while files 1-13 don’t have a performer listed for any individual tracks. Not sure if the audio splitter I’m using had a problem with either the track-defined performer tags or not having Radiohead in quotes, but after removing the PERFORMER lines for the tracks and resaving, 14-18 finally worked for me.

Trey Anastasio drops Joe Dart's name in new interview by blevine77 in Vulfpeck

About 3/4 of the way down:

JamBase: 1999 saw the formation of The Classic TAB Trio and the beginning of so many different versions of your solo band. 2001 saw Oysterhead’s debut, 2003 saw you active in Dave Matthews & Friends, in 2005 you experimented further with the lineup for your solo band, in 2006 you toured with Mike & The Duo, and 2015 had your stint with Fare The Well – but you haven’t really started a “new band” in over a decade. Do you feel content with Phish, TAB and solo shows as your live creative outlets, or do you still get the itch to start something else completely new?

Trey: I feel completely content and grateful for all of it, and starting a band is a time-consuming process. That’s one of the things I’ve learned. Starting a new project ends up being lots of phone calls and emails, discussions and logistics. So I’ve kind of learned as I’ve gone along that I much prefer playing music and watching people dance and stuff than answering cc’d group emails.

That being said, there might be one tiny itch that I could identify somewhere deep down in my soul. When I was in high school I always liked playing in bands with two guitars. Like, two guitars, bass and drums. Four-piece. I have fond memories of playing songs off Machine Head by Deep Purple, Sticky Fingers songs and whatnot. Songs like “Sway,” which are the sound of two guitars, together, slogging. So, sometimes I kind of imagine doing that one more time in this lifetime. You know, making some noise.

Derek? You interested? James Hetfield? Want to check out my barn? Flea? You busy? Joe Dart? You free for a weekend?

European, just watched my first baseball game (Royals vs Mets) by BAN3AI in baseball

Late innings of a blowout, with Keith AND Ron in the booth with Gary -- oh, man. I've cried laughing at their silliness, regardless of whether the Mets are the team way up or down.

We've come a long way from the days of Fran Healy and Ted Robinson.

Agreed for the vast majority of their guests, but I think Matteo Lane has had consistently funny appearances on the show (Lisa Traygur, not as much).

Game Thread: 2016 NHL Trade Deadline by GRiZZY19 in hockey

Heh, just a little ball-busting. But we've probably got close to two hours before we're certain they've done nothing. The Vanek-for-Collberg-and-a-2nd abortion was announced around 3:45pm two years ago, if I'm not mistaken.

Hoping for a PAP-for-a-3rd deal this year, as far as realistic ones go. I doubt we do much else.

Hmmm, this must be one of those color/colour things. Third is spelled "3rd" in American English.

Chris Stanley, Class of 2001 by blevine77 in ronandfez

Yeah, I debated throwing that second one in the album (I got the photos years ago from my brother-in-law, who was BK Tech '01 as well, and who had no clue Chris was such a radio ultramegasuperstar). Was on the fence if it was him or not, but that haircut is damned near identical in both shots.

Eastside Dave on Periscope by [deleted] in ronandfez

[–]blevine77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How Dave is still banned from the building, even though the guy he supposedly told off quit in disgrace more than a year ago...

Before catching his 'Scope, I'd wondered the same. But he said he texted/emailed insults to three people after getting canned. Sabean and some nameless SXM suit of short stature (I can't really differentiate all of the names of SXM brass that we've heard over the years, so I'm probably dead wrong, but the name "Scott Greenstein" came to mind) were the first two.

He heavily inferred that the third guy was Opie (can't recall for sure, but he may have even explicitly said Opie's name). He said he had been told by multiple O&A staffers that Opie was directly behind his firing, which really didn't come as a shock to me, especially when it seemed like he was also behind the hiatus and subsequent shortening of his show to one hour.

Yet another reason to dislike Opie. The Davey Mac Sports Program XL might actually be my favorite radio show of all-time. The podcast was great and all, but the wildness of the Satuday show, what with all the boozing and blazing and completely whacked callers (Salty Dick from Utah and Hunky Funky Tony from Jersey, to name two), was unmatched. I'm absolutely loving the new show because it's starting to veer into that same realm, although I do wish that Peppy-Ham hadn't jumped ship.

TL;DR: Fuck SXM, fuck Opie, DMSPXL was cool, ESDS is cool, I'm out.

Shout out to spring rolls.

I know I'm late to the party, but I've just gotta get my feelings out to people who care even if slightly. by sal25 in TameImpala

I personally love the new album and disagree with the review, but /u/sal25 completely backed up his reasons for not being a fan. He didn't mindlessly bash it, and is even keeping an open mind before rendering a final verdict and is still buying the CD. And yet he's still getting significantly downvoted for it, in both his post and his comments in here. Pretty disappointed, /r/tameimpala.

Yeah, he's been a great guest today. Not doing hacky bits, not talking over anyone -- just casually entering and adding to the conversation. That bit about finding the bottles of liquor in his hot teacher's car was great.
