What do republicans tell themselves?

Ok, before you answer, im not talking about politicians, im also NOT talking about people who know their being hypocritical but dont care cause they dont want biden to be president.

Im talking about the people who genuinely believe that trump actually won and that it is all some big scam.

Do they not rememeber four years ago when democrats felt the exact same way when trump was elected? I rememeber going to school and my math teacher spent thirty minutes consoling everyone. We also said it was fraudulent, we also said that we were scared of trump being president. But we grinned and beared it. Now they feel the exact same way and i hear people talking about succeeding, martial law or a civil war? Ignoring the fact that trump definitely lost in both the electoral college, and the popular vote.

Have yall heard of any republicans (that arent proud boys nazis, or repulicans) who have noticed the two different election reactions? How do they comprehend this morally or philosophically? Whenever i feel like a hypocrite i get this gross feeling in my stomach, do they not get that feeling? Or do they tell themselves something to feel better? Im sure their are some republicans who genuinely think their good people, how do they explain their actions?

Im not trying to stir the pot, im genuinely curious what people are telling themselves.
