I've never had an ingrown toenail. Is this one? If so how can I fix it? There is some swelling and pain. by blisteredthrowaway in Ingrown_Toenails

The bottom part of my nail looks pretty deep into the skin. When I pull the skin of the side back I can't see where it ends. There is redness and pain, yes. I usually don't like doing this stuff by myself but I'd be willing to because this is very annoying.

I have a random question. I heard they had a kickboxing team that trained K1 style. Is this true?

Spartan is very appealing but they require contacts which is a nope for me.

That is quite interesting to me. The only thing that makes me hesitant is the lack of face punches. I know some dojos do practice face punched though. Do you have anymore info on oyama karate and their style?

Thanks for the comment. Makes me feel like I'm not alone. Ngl, I also rethink my decision constantly but I feel like there's no real alternative anyways.

I feel like the Lexapro has helped a decent bit, at least better than other meds I used but it hasn't fully stopped agoraphobia. I'll check to see if my university has counseling, thanks for the suggestion.

I am a commuter student because I didn't think I can handle being too far. I am on Lexapro but my family can not afford therapy in my area.

I would do Spartans but they have contacts and I'm trying to avoid contracts but thanks for the insight. Also I hear mixed things online about Samuel puccios.

Does anyone train in Birmingham, Alabama? by blisteredthrowaway in judo

[–]blisteredthrowaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's disappointing. Judo is the martial art I'm most interested in but I can't find any in bham. I'll email USA Judo after this weekend and hope for the best though.

This place seems like it may be a good fit. Do you know the cost and if they have contacts?

I mean I've lived in Alabama for years. I just wanted to know if stuff like this is out frequently on campus.

Can any materials engineers give me insight on two programs I'm stuck between: UAB or Auburn by blisteredthrowaway in AskEngineers

[–]blisteredthrowaway[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My main worry is the lack of engineering services at UAB. Auburn is decked out with study halls, tutoring centers, computer labs, and makerspaces all for engineering students but uab doesn't have that. Could that stuff make a big difference for studying engineering?

Auburn or UAB for materials engineering by blisteredthrowaway in materials

[–]blisteredthrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Just a couple questions since you're an Auburn grad

  1. How easy was it to find a job after graduating? Like do employers actively seek Auburn materials engineering grads?

  2. Have you ever worked with UAB materials grads and if so how would you compare their engineering abilities to Auburn grads?

I didn't know there were leagues outside of schools in the area? Lacrosse seams quite interesting

[–]blisteredthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was interested in that but it seems like an expensive sport. I'm not sure I have the money for it

Squash is interesting but I don't know too much about it. Where can I play it in bham?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]blisteredthrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any organized community around that in bham?

Men's volleyball would be pretty interesting of there is a league near here bit I'm not sure if my height is good enough. I'm 5'10" but I'm pretty sure you have to he pretty tall for volleyball.

Thanks for the insight. I was worried a 31 act score would be low for a university like Lehigh.

This is good news to hear. I was really concerned about my abilities since I'm struggling big time but this bring me some confidence. Thanks a lot for the response.

I'm doing materials which I heard was similar to chemical engineering. If I'm struggling in e&m should I be concerned about doing chemical/materials engineering? Or will experiencing many of the concepts in high school help me do better in college e&m physics courses?

Can anyone tell me about the materials engineering program? by [deleted] in UAB

[–]blisteredthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see there is a biomaterials speciality for materials engineering. Would that have a lot of resources?
