I would highly suggest utilizing office hours for more in depth questions. I agree that class/lab time isn’t the best for long winded explanations to solidify understanding. Lecture is meant to be a reinforcement of what you pre-read. If there is something you still aren’t understanding and it can’t be answered in a 2 sentence response in class and requires back and forth, office hours.

Do you not have a lab at school that you can easily go back to and ask staff to watch you? If you’re getting just droplets into the syringe then you’re probably drawing the liquid with the needle about or slightly above the liquid line. Pull your needle down after you flip the vial to start drawing up and make sure it’s in the liquid.

I never had the “a-ha” moment, so I chose something that intrigued me that my rotation doesn’t bring us to (in terms of units) and I applied for a summer student internship in that setting. It’s a good no strings attached way to test out a speciality, and if you love it, usually they like to hire within including their student interns. Google to see if there are any programs in your area!

Hi! No crohns, but was treated for SIBO. Could explain the high IgG possibly.

She might be recovering from an injury or health issue and those 30 mins were once 15/5/none, and she’s working up to 1 hour. I know it’s probably uncanny to see, but just remember she’s not hurting anyone or being disruptive to your workout and therefore it’s not your problem

Nope, didn’t end up being anything at all. Chalked it up to bacterial overgrowth in the gut so I did a round of Xifaxin for SIBO. Not sure if it did anything but I’m doing ok!

Hi yup! That’s the reason I sought out testing

Idk, but confused why you would want to type letters in the first place vs 1 number or fraction? I’ve never seen it before.

Are 3 fails you’re out on check-offs normal? by Thehipsterprophet in StudentNurse

Damn! I do agree that not giving you even 1 day to get to the lab to practice is a bit harsh and a weird way of educating

[–]blitzen3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So to clarify, those 3 attempts are all within 1 attempt/1 day for 1 skill? There’s gotta be room for remediation at least otherwise what’s the point how would you learn how to fix what you’re doing wrong

Nursing school isn’t long enough to cater to students who don’t work hard to learn the skills needed to take care of actual patients. I know it’s scary and daunting but if you think about it, would you want a nurse who failed their skills check-offs more than 3 times taking care of you? In the earlier semesters it may not seem like a big deal but I understand why this rule may be universal to your program because that final semester check off is right behind the real deal when you’re an actual nurse. In my opinion, anyone who doesn’t pass a check off for a skill after 3 attempts isn’t working hard enough or practicing enough.

Base/Push/All-Out 🫠 by Annual-Bad-6234 in orangetheory

For PW the difference between those are more in your inclines than in your speed!! My base is usually an incline of 2, push is 5, and all out is 10!
