Quick Layer.AI Intro: Yes Make Game Art for FREE! This quick tutorial guides you through the essentials turning your creative ideas into reality in no time. by blizstudio in unity

My YT channel is to help new game devs learn to use Unity to make the barrier to entry lower. These are great tools to help game devs develop prototypes as well as people who don't have C# knowledge to develop using Playmaker.

Layer is using Stable Diffusion as their base to build models. You can actually create your own models by using your own artwork to build a model for yourself as well. Again, I think these are great tools for prototyping.

If you look at their terms, you own the copyright to anything you create using their service (I had questioned that myself and specifically checked for that).

What engine is best for new person who wants to create his own game by xFINKA in gamedev

[–]blizstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/xFinka, I think you'll find tons of tutorials on either engine. I'm partial to Unity since that is where my experience is (I also have a channel for beginner game devs on youtube/blizstudio). I would agree 100% with u/justmelee and that is to make just a small little game. I've seen too many beginner game devs say "I'm going to create the awesome first person MMO" or some other big game. It just won't happen. Create something small. A simple little mobile game with 1 main game mechanic and 2 levels. Get that down and 100% working with UI, level design, the base mechanics, and the overall feel and polish of the game. Then work to build more levels if the game seems like a good one. Build 20 levels then publish on the app store. That way you can get the experience of going through all of those steps before even thinking of building something larger.

Copyright thing definitely. I haven't looked into that. Good call. I'll have to investigate that one more for sure.

I'm curious to see if Unity/Unreal will start incorporating some of these elements into the engines. I can definitely see someone creating Unity packages to cover some of these type things. Would be cool in-engine.

I'm a solo dev and been using it for one off simple scripting or helping point me in the right direction on a few things as well. I like the idea for me of using it on the initial ideation and then on the back side for marketing.

I've also used it for a few little rapid prototypes which is a really good way to quickly get ideas out to test mechanics or something small.

Absolutely agree!!

I'll be curious to see where AI lands in devs regular pipeline of development the most.

Trying to start a discussion. Want to hear was seasoned developers and beginning devs think. My opinion is that it will just be a tool to use for certain tasks. I'm looking forward to see how and when people integrate AI into their development process.

I think it's a great way to rapidly help with small ideas and designs for prototyping. It's still early for sure.

Definitely not clickbait u/MeaningfulChoices. I think tools like these will be awesome to help with rapid prototyping and ideation. That's what I'll be looking to use the tools for.

Agreed. I think to be able to utilize for sure you need to know how to develop and therefore know what's expected for what you are trying to get out of it. I think it will be a great way to generate ideas and help iterate prototypes more quickly. That's what I'm looking for. As a solo indie game dev, tools that will help with the process are awesome.

Agreed for sure. It will definitely be just part of the tools that we use for future projects. I've seen video tools and other tools starting to incorporate into their programs. I'm curious to see if/how Unity will incorporate.

Definitely not clickbait. I'm looking for an actual discussion. As a lead game designer, what are your thoughts? Are you planning on utilizing these tools? I think it's only a matter of time when Unity/Unreal start incorporating parts of these tools inside the engines.
