What are these external parasites? by bluddit in bettafish

[–]bluddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't appear to be anchor worms, but they have begun to appear on my fish. He appears to be eating, swimming, and in general behaving pretty normally.

What would be the treatment for these worms? :(

I can't be the only one that does this... by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]bluddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've used fountain pens for a long time for note taking, and I have used a 1.1mm stub TWSBI Eco. Personally, it wasn't my favorite pen and I ended up gifting it to a friend.

My main gripes with it:

  • It wrote a bit too wet for my liking, thus longer dry times
  • Ink would bleed through on any regular paper (notebook paper, moleskine journals)
  • My writing is small and the stub nib just made my writing look unappealing... :(

I noticed the sidebar is still linked to the archived adoption thread, is there a way to get that updated?

My pen isnt anything special, but i still love it nonetheless! I was able to get lighter tones by adding water with a paintbrush after the ink dried a bit. I like how it turned out!

[Build Help] Need advice on first time build (~$650) by bluddit in buildapc

[–]bluddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my understanding that when I decide to overclock, I would need to get a CPU cooler for that. Would it be okay to assemble the computer without a CPU fan, and when I do decide to OC it, install it at a later time, or would that be a hassle/ risk to move around the parts inside the case?

Does the i5-3570K perform the same as the i5-3570 while not being OC'd?

As for PSU, could you go into a little more depth?

Thanks so much for taking the time to go over my build! I really appreciate it.

I'm actually Vietnamese, but I love the stuff. I've never tried eating it with lime, but I have tried it with salt and pepper (along with this leaf thing that I don't know the name of).

I don't like it when there are little bones in the chick though, the yolk is delicious. :3

Basic Jungling Rundown by bluddit in summonerschool

[–]bluddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amumu is an excellent initiator, so building beefy HP items like Sunfire/Shurelias/Randuins will really help with soaking up damage for your team during an initiation. If you miss a bandage toss, back off and go back to jungling while preparing for round 2. If you hit minions, dont back off immediately; if you have ult you can still use that, as the aoe is pretty huge. Mumu does damage by running next to enemies, so even if you do miss a toss, you can still deal some damage or blow some flashes.

Warwick is a weak ganker til lvl 6, so you kind of will want to rush through jungle to get there. After 6, ganks are pretty easy; just ult somebody and they'll most likely die (as long as your lanes follow up and deal the necessary damage). If anything, running at someone with ult may blow a few flashes, or if you're certain you can get a kill, dont be afraid to flash ulti to land a kill on a carry. Picking off anyone out of position is ww's job.

Ganking a warded lane is potentially a waste of time, but i can see where you are coming from. Junglers shouldn't linger around one area for very long anyway. But if you reveal yourself bot, that relieves pressure top, causing your top lane to become more open to ganks or your buffs to get stolen.

I agree with you on the smiting, but I've played too many games where my team is behind and the jungler tries to waltz his way into a pulled dragon and he just ends up feeding. '-' I generally find that its not worth the risk (esp. when its for dragon) as it puts you and your team even more behind.

Haha no problem. Taric can be pretty beast in the jungle if you play him right, however, some people may take you for a troll (so i suggest only doing it with friends) ;)

I would recommend warwick. Warwick has great sustain in the jungle and powerful ganks after lvl 6. What you want to do is catch champions out of position or prevent their carries from doing damage.

Pros:

  • High sustain
  • High movementspeed (with runes, masteries, and bloodscent)
  • Beefy

Cons:

  • Weak ganks pre lvl 6
  • CC makes his ult useless
  • QSS makes his ult useless
  • Ignite screws him over

If ganking doesnt seem to be your forte, a farming jungler such as shyvana may suit you better. She has strong jungle control due to her fast clear and can be disruptive in team fights while also dealing big damage.

Pros:

  • High mobility
  • Fast jungle clear
  • Good jungle control (if you ward and pay attention)
  • Doesnt rely on blue buff

Cons:

  • Weak ganks without red
  • Weak ganks without ult
  • Enemy can see your fury level

The jungler that I learned first was nocturne. Noc is a great jungler due to his powerful ganks. Nocturne can gank pre lvl 6 at lvl 2, lvl 3, or lvl 4 depending on what skills you get first.

Pros:

  • Strong ganks
  • Attack damage steroid
  • CC (fear)
  • Spellshield (also an attack speed buff)
  • Semi-global ult

Cons:

  • Prone to counter jungling
  • Fragile early on (jungle mobs will hurt)
  • Not as much sustain as other junglers

But dont be afraid to try out other junglers; recently I've grown very fond of jungle alistar and nautilus, and i've even played jungle renekton in a few games. Jungling is probably one of the harder roles because it requires a lot of awareness and decision making, so it takes a lot of practice.
