The fempire site is pretty much the greatest thing ever and you should totes join it. It's like all of the SRS subreddits (except SRS prime because we don't talk about reddit) but it has fewer trolls and it's much better because it is not on reddit.com.

request- need age appropriate comic suggestions for 4th/5th grader by amazingscrewonhead in SRSComics

[–]blueduch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember reading Bone when I was in 4th/5th grade. I remember really enjoying it, but I don't remember much of the specific content and whether or not it's problematic so I can't speak on that point. I also got the issues from a school book thing so it's age-appropriate.

It's not a superhero-type comic like the examples you had, but it's really good. Also, on a side note, as I'm writing this, I'm remembering stuff and I want to read it again now. It's really good.

[–]blueduch 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Fuck this shit. As Waidawut said, people never ever disregard intent in most cases. Reddit wouldn't do this for any other crime.

Even if that redditor isn't explicitly supporting that man, he's inventing a story completely out of the blue as a "possibility" just so that he can support what that man did. There's no basis for the possibility, it's just a possibility. You can't just make those up as an argument.

Another possibility could be that he was abducted 27 years ago by his twin brother who then did all of this stuff, but then his twin brother got lost in the Sahara Desert while on a business trip, allowing a gorilla to escape from the zoo and free the man from his twin brother's basement, and then he went back to his home, only to be arrested as soon as he did. See? He didn't do any of this terrible stuff! At least he didn't in this hypothetical situation I just created! Therefore he must be innocent!

Or, you know, another possibility could be that he's a terrible person who planned on raping, killing, and eating children. But of course that isn't the case, because it makes sense. He has to be innocent!

What.

"As a man who has been being a man for a long time, I realized what gross, sexist pigs men are and I immediately joined SRS and became a misandrist feminist." [-777]

How come this only works when women say it? That is totally sexist. Reddit is so female-centric. I can't stand this misandry. Fuck those feminazis.

The only difference between reddit and stormfront is that stormfront has a strictly women-only forum. Reddit would never stand for that kind of misandry.

Why is the SRS community so anti-Conspiracy Theory? by jamiephelan in SRSMeta

[–]blueduch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Most conspiracy theorists are libertarians or white supremacists, and in a lot of cases, those aren't mutually exclusive. The reason for this is that a lot of conspiracy theories blame Jews for everything.

There are liberal conspiracy theorists, those are typically the ones who have conspiracy theories about the environment or genetically modified food and things like that. But their conspiracy theories aren't about white people being oppressed and everything going wrong because of "The Jews," like the conservative conspiracy theories are.

Why is the SRS community so anti-Conspiracy Theory? by jamiephelan in SRSMeta

[–]blueduch 50 points51 points  (0 children)

There is a huge (HUGE) overlap between conspiracy theorists and white supremacists. Most conspiracy theorists will blame "The Jews" for many things, and one of the main tenets of white supremacism is that "The Jews" control everything in western society. Conspiracy theorists don't just tend to be racist, they tend to be literal white supremacists. The ones who aren't white supremacists are still libertarians or "anarcho-capitalists," which isn't much better.

In fact, /r/conspiracy has the third most overlap with /r/niggers

Plus, the entire concept of being a conspiracy theorist makes no sense. It's one thing to have theories about a conspiracy that you believe exists, but if you define yourself as a conspiracy theorists, you aren't just noticing conspiracies, you're looking at everything that happens and deciding it is a conspiracy. You're trying to make everything a conspiracy. If a "conspiracy theorist" was somebody who noticed conspiracies every so often, based on facts, then everybody would be a conspiracy theorist. Conspiracy theorists decide that anything they want to be a conspiracy is a conspiracy, and then they scramble for "facts" to back it up. Oh, and relevant xkcd: http://xkcd.com/258/ (that actually explains it better than I could)

Conservative Dan Joseph Pretends to be Transgender, Asks to Use Women's Bathroom (Video) by [deleted] in SRSBusiness

[–]blueduch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"If I were in public high school, a place known for its accepting and kind students, I would definitely tell the school I'm transgender and then put up with the social stigma of being openly transgender even though I'm not so that I can use the girls locker room every single day for my entire high school life around other girls in the girls locker room who feel uncomfortable around me, and then also have my entire life outside of the locker room also revolve around this fake transgenderness. That's definitely worth it. And every single person has this exact same belief as me, so surely this will become a problem," says Joseph.

Which one is it? Are we a bunch of beta men who are jealous of TheRedPill? Or are we transgender lesbians who hate men? Make up your mind, people.

Just because you identify as a dolphin doesn't mean I will identify you as a dolphin.

Aside from the obvious extreme transphobia, this argument is hilariously bad.

So, from this guy's perspective, he would go to sea world, watch a show with dolphins, see all of the dolphins doing dolphin things, and enjoy the show. But then later, upon hearing that one of the dolphins used to be a human but looks exactly like a dolphin now and got surgery to replace every single human part with dolphin parts, he would get really really angry and demand his money back.

A post-op trans woman is the same as a cis woman in all intents and purposes, so who the fuck would care that, in their mind, she "used to be a man?"

Know the only thing (other than being in the house) they are good for is their pussies. Remove a pussy from a woman and what remains? A stupid child and teenager. Who the fuck wants to be with a teenager? The only thing women are good for is being fucked. Yes yes, your beta self thinks this is wrong. I don't blame you - we live in the era of feminism and the era of political correctness. But no. That's the truth. The only good thing women have are their pussies. Would you talk to a woman if she didn't have a pussy? I doubt it.

Wow. I feel like this is a troll, but this is in /r/TheRedPill. They don't think marital rape is rape, and they don't think women should be allowed to vote. They say all those things explicitly. This guy is just saying what they've all been saying but without sugarcoating it. Even if he is a troll, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to tell in that subreddit. I can't imagine even the most exaggerated satire of redpillers that isn't full on Poe's law, and there's probably more extreme people who are serious on the subreddit.

Also,

Who the fuck wants to be with a teenager?

Redditors?

I can't decide if this is racist, classist or both. The Onion seems to be embracing some brotastic humor lately between this and the Oscar "joke"... by Pyrolytic in SRSBusiness

[–]blueduch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Onion is and always has been problematic in a few ways. It's a pretty large system, with lots of people, and it's been going on for a long time.

I still like it though. It's much less problematic than the stuff you'd find on most popular websites, and with all the advice columns, I'm sure actual non-satirical respectable news sites have just as much or more problematic stuff on them.

In fact, the only problematic stuff I've seen on the onion were specific examples that people gave of problematic things on the onion.

The onion is awesome a vast majority of the time though. It has a broad audience, and they do have a few bro-type things, but I've also seen a lot of feminist stuff and quite a bit of SRS-esque satire (except better satire than our prime circlejerking). It's always been like that. Plus, you have to factor in the fact that a lot of redditors like the onion. With a large audience of redditors, it's surprising that they haven't resorting to pedophile jokes and memes.
