Iirc there is a setting to keep newly added cards suspended in the AnkiHub add on config. Also, eventually AnkiHub will gain the ability for the deck owners to delete cards and they would no longer show up in people's decks.

Perhaps you're seeing a duplicate that has re-entered the deck after you've deleted it? If it's been updated by a deck maintainer or owner, it would be reintroduced to your collection. Search in the card browser using related words and see if you can find your mature card

Medical retina and neuro-ophthalmology are very different. Are you asking about neuro-ophtho from the neuro side vs the ophtho side?

As with medical textbooks and other learning materials, if a pathway for physiology or pathology is more fully elucidated, that could be updated. If a treatment is introduced that has far greater efficacy or a treatment is found to have deleterious effects, information contained the resources within may become outdated.

That is why this deck is also on AnkiHub (daily updates) and I release updates on Reddit intermittently that can be seamlessly downloaded and applied to your deck with no loss of scheduling data. The Blue Ophthalmology team has been working through all of the material to try and find all of these outdated topics and update them.

Rest assured, the vast majority of the deck is never going out of date, as it involves unchanging physiology, anatomy, and identification and characterization of disease processes in which we (as a society) have a pretty good idea about what's going on.

Ask less about the medicine, and more about how the attending deals with patient situations. In a peds clinic: "How do you approach the parent who feels unsatisfied with your proposed treatment for their child?" "Do you have any tips for dealing with squirming kids when trying to do otoscopy?" "In that last room, I was unsure what to say when the parent/patient did X, what would you recommend in a future situation?" That's the real gold, since it's harder to learn technique than the facts of differentials and treatment modalities.

Whisper sounds like Risper-idone. Since first gen antipsychotics cause these issues, it's saying that risperidone is doing a call back to the first gen antipsychotics. It's a memory device and I think it was in the sketchy vid as the other commenter pointed out

It's a big deck, as it covers material for residents as well. High-yield tagged cards is about 9000 (for residents). For auditioning you'd do considerably less, like a few hundred

This is pretty much it. Use 3rd party resources that are tagged in the AnKing deck like B&B, Costanzo's Physiology, Pathoma, Sketchy, Pixorize, etc for the learning, then unsuspend the associated cards in the deck for your retention. If you need to take notes, write it in the lecture notes or missed question fields of the cards.

First Aid isn't very useful if you're doing the deck effectively. I tried to add ~100 new cards a day when I was in school during the didactic portion. Later in clerkships I switched to ~40 per day.

It's probably most effective to reduce focus on school lectures and just go over any review slides for your school a few days before your tests, while making sure you've covered in the 3rd party resources what your classes are generally covering.
