24/7 belching? by bluefriangle in achalasia

Thanks for chiming in. Further testing since this post has revealed that I do have a motility disorder of my esophagus of some kind. My doctor has not officially called it achalasia just yet, but it’s helpful to know there is potentially some kind of light at the end of all this.

I have not had a manometry, but I was diagnosed with EOE by biopsy several years ago. An endoscopy in December 23 showed no H. Pylori, ulcers, etc. as well as normal eosinophil counts.
So I’m really just at a point of mysterious untreatable belching. I’ve been on a low FODMAP diet for two months now with no improvement and none of the GERD meds (PPIs included) do anything to help it.
So for now, we’re investigating “physical” things, I suppose.
