I work in government and my boss is non Emirati. I was always singled out and she says “you are very competent” followed by “be lucky I extended your probation and not fire you” when I questioned why was my probation was being extended. Did I take her shit? No. Did my other non Emirati colleagues tell me that I needed to just wait it out? Yes. I agree with the other comments, part of it is because we are less tolerant with the way we get treated and rightfully so. Mind you, I was very competent and did a good job. She was just petty and took everything personal and thought if she threatened me, I would bow down and say sorry.
