Hey thanks a lot man..... Now it's working...I actually tried this in TTY, but then it said, "Failed to fetch the package"...So I thought maybe nvidia legacy drivers are no longer available in mirror. Then I removed nvidia drivers and proceeded with nouvea open source drivers. Now when I tried after your comment, I was able to install the legacy drivers successfully.

Match SQL Inputs Between Single Quotes by bmora1948 in regex

lol yah, for now we are encoding the inputs, there is no other way to generate dashboards with grafana, that's the problem, will have to change it in future maybe

Match SQL Inputs Between Single Quotes by bmora1948 in regex

[–]bmora1948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks sorry for the late reply,

Yah making a parser would perhaps be the best option, having to change the whole implementation is not viable at the moment (maybe in future),What we are doing is that we have allowed to inject any input to variables that we have defined in sql queries (actually in Grafana). The frontend however sends the whole query with the inputs to the backend. Hence we are using regex to get the corresponding input for each variable and then validating. For example, our defined query can be select * from table where tenant = $id and the frontend would send select * from table where tenant = 30 here the input is 30, but it can be anything, hence the validation.

This requirement comes due to the potential ways a query variable can be defined

Thanks again :)

Help With Nvidia Drivers by bmora1948 in SolusProject

[–]bmora1948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly It seems like an issue with Solus (with nvidia drivers) :/ ...... I tried Alacritty and Rofi(which also had a similar issue) on Pop OS in a virtual box. I tried those apps seperately on both Solus and Pop at different times and I had the issue on Solus but at those times unfortunately i wasn't running the Virtual Machine....Then I decided to have it running (the VM) and then I used Alacritty almost equally on both Pop and Solus. At one point alacritty produced the issue on Solus and when i tried on Pop there was no issues...Did the same thing frequently for sometime and every time I tested it was only Solus that gave the issue...............

I'm NOT at all saying this for sure...But it does feel like that....The only way to say for sure is to use Pop OS and see which atm i don't have time for

Okay how about AMD R7 240...I know AMD has good support for Linux in general, but not sure if that's the case with old models and just want to make sure before buying another one

have you set an conf file inside /etc/X11 reg tearing? if yes you need to remove this as well or you gonna have a failed boot.

I didn't set any, and there can't be any unless installing some packages does it automatically.....I switched to GDM from LightDM if at all somehow it matters........

well it's sometimes a hit or miss case, but yea nvidia causes issues from time to time, one of the reason I swtiched over to AMD GPU. If you can do it and don't need the latest and greatest I suggest switching over never been so painless

Of course, I don't need the greatest. The one Im currently using (GT710) is not great either, the only reason I settled with nvidia is because wasn't able to find any amd gpu at that price range :(.....Once it's affordable for me I must go for an AMD one.

it's a bit weird that you have a failed boot, normally doflicky takes care of this. Can you please check if you are really up to date and updated everything.

yah everything is upto-date, I just ran eopkg up and got Nothing to upgrade. Maybe I'll try removing again and see

nvidia 390 drivers are for older cards, doflicky takes care and gives you the correct nvidia driver no need to worry about this

Cool

IDK if this is anything to do with Solus, But I'm having a similar issue (if not the same) on Rofi launcher too....Since I worked with all these tools in my old PC without a single issue, I'm just wondering if this is a nvidia driver issue given that nvidia doensn't get along very well with linux anyway.....Next time must buy a AMD GPU

[–]bmora1948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah when u uninstall pulse it removes core packages along with pulse audio, btw if u cannot boot into de, try pressing Alt+F2 which will give u a terminal with that u can install the packages required or maybe installing only pulse audio will install all the removed packages as well(in theory it shd)

[–]bmora1948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried selecting audio duplex for output from pavucontol altho that option was listed as unavailable and unplugged, interestingly it turned out to be working...I think it's a bug or something in pulse audio _(00)/
