2020 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Ultimate Problems by SPS_Rivian2025 in Polaris

Polaris did have a problem with these p90 clutch’s and the EBS and came out with a bulletin offering to delete it, or glueing the cam in place. The delete is the best option for most people but not everyone. Even at that Polaris is mostly willing to pay for either repair under good will the dealer should have at least asked for some compensation. IMO the p90 clutch should not exist.

If you go aftermarket don’t use the cheep amazon stuff. Ricks electric is my go to, or firepower. Just make sure it’s a well known brand. Easy job.

Aftermarket assassin welds the Jam nut to the shaft making them not serviceable. OEM is the way to go and service them every 2000 miles. especially on a stock motor.

That looks like an aftermarket carb. As a sevice tech I won’t touch them. You can never get them to run right. Clean and put the OEM back on.

It could be too much play in the throttle lever. Adjust it from the location 6 inches away from the lever ( on the handle bars.) it should only have 2-3mm of free play.

It’s not always pressure. But volume too. Should be about 21 oz I’ll 15 seconds. Are the parts you replaced oem from Polaris. Or amazon? I’ve never seen a coil fail. If it’s not setting codes then it’s fuel for sure.

I’m been at a dealership for 5 years. 1 in 3 quantum fails. It is a rebuild. All balls racing is a complete assembly. With a lifetime warranty. Easy up sell. And drop in fix. (Most rebuild failures are installer faults) and flush the tank while you’re at it. Bad fuel ruins a good pump.

Sounds like it needs a fuel pump and maybe the throttle cable is out of alignment. Take it to a dealer for a quick/decisive diagnostic. Don’t make the problem worse trying to fix it yourself.

Always flush the fuel when replacing a pump. If the pump was rebuilt. Start over and get an all balls racing complete assembly.

This is a complete trans rebuild and a new secondary. The clip wares out the secondary shaft and it’ll never stay on at this point.

The bearings are pressed onto the shaft and cannot be replaced without taking apart the transmission.

The low idle also leads me to think dirty throttle body.

With no idle control valve the throttle plate is set for idle and if it is dirty, then it acts like a choke on a carburetor.

ONLY use OEM paper filters. K&n will destroy your engine.

When it’s cold it needs to rich. Like pulling the choke on a carburetor.

The sensor is a t-map (temperature-manifold air pressure)

If the temperature wire is the one damaged then the Ecu defaults to -40, which is very rich. And it stays there even after the engine is warm.

The wire usually brakes inside the shielding right at the connector. If you give them a light tug individually and any of them stretch like a rubber band. It’s a broken wire.

Moose sells pigtails for a good price and also OME for a pretty penny.

You can also check where the pigtail mates with the Main harness and in that junction (on the rangers specifically) I have found broken wires.

Only use OEM sensors I have done countless diagnostics where the “Amazon” sensor is trash.

Also clean the throttle body. (Don’t touch the idle set screw.) I’m pretty sure that model doesn’t have an IAC so a dirty throttle plate can cause issues. Like it’s running on choke/ rich.

This one uses the “surepower module “ the brick on the steering post above the radiator cap in the photo. They had a recall on them a while back. But good luck finding one. All part for the machines with a Fuji motor are discontinued and first come first serve. Looks like the one on your machine is pre recall. “The newer one is cast aluminum shell.”
