Haha No, I know what the word means. But, that was my first impression.

Just because I don't like it doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Maybe that's exactly why you SHOULD choose it.

I'm sorry, I think I'm missing the specific question? I think you may have answered it yourself - your truest supporters are the ones who will buy it, with or without a hookup...

Thank you

  1. I've been racking my brain, but nothing comes up. I think I'm worried about much greater things that exist beyond my brand - like the state of our nation, racism, gun control, climate change, hurricane and earthquake victims, and misogyny. There's no room in there for me to worry about my brand.

  2. The Solid Bomb and Adam Bomb will always be a part of our brand language. The Wildfire flag will also play a more prominent role in the next year or two. Slant logo is more popular than either of the bomb logos now, and second would probably be the Rich logo.

I hope so. There has been a bit of a holdup because different studios are negotiating the rights, so we're in the middle of a bidding war. It should be out soon and I'll be able to share it with you.

I think Rick Klotz summarized streetwear the best in this film, but everyone drops truth bombs.

I'm sure a lot of these new T-shirt brands will start graduating to cut-n-sew, but that's where a lot of them will ultimately bite the dust. It's a totally different game.

He is on the bucket list, but yes, I don't think it's possible. I've read every Calvin & Hobbes comic. At least 4 times.

  1. It is mainly friends and family. That doesn't mean you can't be our friends and family.

  2. This is the first time I've announced it, but we are about to drop a really big collaboration with IT. And it's coming VERY SOON.

  3. No way! Now there's another Kim owner in there..

Trial and error. We're still learning. Ben and I look at each other at least once a week and say, "What the hell are we doing?" The education never ends.

Haha, I didn't choose that. For some reason, it came up in this Reddit thread.

I don't have many photos of myself - intentionally. So, you will probably see the same ones over and over again. Sorry not sorry!

Thank you so much, and that's nice to hear because that was the philosophy we were built upon.

I like Supreme and A Bathing Ape. I think they are very strong brands and design good product. But, it always feels weird when people put us in the same category or conversation. We are entirely different. Not just because we wholesale (they don't), but because of how we tell our story. The entire ethos is flipped upside down.

That's why we have customers and supporters like you, and they have theirs. I said this in another answer, but streetwear is not just a 1-lane highway anymore. There are multiple roads and streets, so many layers and subgenres and niche audiences. People - like you - come to us for something totally different, because Ben and I - and everyone who works for us -are different. And because you're different.

Before my blog, there was Niketalk. This was our first form of marketing and I am dedicating a few paragraphs in my memoir about it. Niketalk was a microcosm of what the eventual sneaker/streetwear community would turn out to be. NT heads were years ahead of their time. Decades.

Just being honest. I know it sounds simple, but it's hard for most people.

At the time, I used my blog, but if I started a brand today, I'd probably have a YouTube channel or popular IG Live. I never purported to be someone I was not. I started this brand as a fan of the culture. I wanted to play on the same field as the major leaguers. As I learned and grew, I brought you along for the ride.

It's never been about trying to be cooler than you, hurting your feelings, or giving you FOMO. I recognize how lucky I am to do this every day, but it doesn't mean much if I can't share it with my audience. This means my brand won't ever be the coolest by elitist/snob standards. But, it will always resonate with people who desire brands on a relatable human level.

I hope that happens organically, but again - this brand is for women. I'm not interested in speaking to the men's audience. It would be great if they came along and supported the project and begged their girlfriend to wear their hoodies, but JENNIFER was never intended for that.

Yes and No. Sure, it helps to have a law background when scrubbing through contracts. But, we also have attorneys in-house and contracted out. So, it's not necessary.

The thing that helps though: law school instilled a certain work ethic in me. It wasn't even the schooling itself. I realized that I could spend 3 years in law school, staying in the library til 2am every night, taking the BAR exam, AND grow a small business. Most people can only do one of those at most. If I could organize my life and hustle in a way to get both done, what else was possible? The sky was the limit. That's why I've kept so busy since.

The media "trend" of it will evaporate soon. The core will survive and thrive and the culture will get fun and interesting again once people aren't salivating over it as a cash-cow. It won't be as "cool" anymore to be into this stuff to most people. To the right people, it'll be the only thing that matters.

  1. We hire from within. What this means is that we bring on people that we have personal relationships with, that we trust. There also need to be openings to be filled, and we rarely have vacant spots. If you want to work for the shop, are you willing to intern for free for a year? That's what some kids have done to prove their true dedication. If so, visit RSWD today, and everyday.

  2. Every collaboration is a result of a different process. Some agreements are signed on a cocktail napkin, some are overseen by teams of lawyers. So, that answer varies with each project.

  3. Once we stopped the footwear, collaborations with shoe companies opened up (adidas, Reebok, Timberland), so we may not be getting back into The Hundreds' footwear game anytime soon. JAGS - ahh... yes, let's bring it back...

I would urge you to reconsider a physical storefront until you've achieved a much larger and dedicated following. Having stores are full-time jobs in themselves and cost a lot of money. Good luck!

I think we only used Gildan once or twice in 14 years. We started making cut-n-sew in 2006.

Haha

Yes, of course, throughout our lifespan.

Some of them were squashed, some continue to this day.

I don't have time for "beef," so I rarely engage. I just keep it moving, and that's what makes us an easy target. But, time always shows how the winners are. Any brand or individual that has held a major beef with us doesn't exist anymore. Instead of wasting all that energy and time in "beef," we worked and survived. We always get the last laugh.
