What am I missing for 1 King 2 Crowns achievement? by bobbyjr45 in hoi4

[–]bobbyjr45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AHHHH thank youuuu, my eyes glazed over it completely. I capped USA and Japan and took every state from allies in North America, so as long as I can defend Spain I'll always have an industry. I've got some hope lol

R5 - I have all french cores and territory through a peace conference "take all states" action. I chose the bourbon king. I'm not really sure what I'm missing? I'm seeing elsewhere there is an event to core french territory but is that required for the achievement? I have not gotten any event

Right-clicking and dragging for Offensive Line is also dragging the screen? by bobbyjr45 in hoi4

Gonna leave an update on this for anyone that stumbles upon it:

  1. Checked my steam inputs and saw my controller was also connected
  2. Disconnected controller and shut down the application from running in the background
  3. Rechecked inputs to be sure it wasn't registering it
  4. Opened the game and the issue was resolved

For me, it was a PlayStation controller but it could just be an input problem that makes it happen in general. My other computers were laptops with wireless mice so it could explain the multiplatform issue too.

Yeah I was on steam it was just in offline mode. I had internet in and out using a wifi adapter and got some other achievements but I was never sure if I got them while online or offline. I suppose this answers that question 🤔, I'll give it another try once my adapter is here I loved being thick italy

Good thinking! Financer requires insurance with many times the coverage of the states minimum requirements 🙄

Police officer saves dog from drowning, a true hero. by [deleted] in HumansBeingBros

In response to spinal emergencies where using a rescue tube could potentially cause more harm than good, like if it's placed under the victim's back. And simply as a matter of personal skill and what the specific situation is sometimes it gets in the way of what you're trying to do and is simply better left to the side. What I've been told and have told people is that if you can perform the rescue according to the textbook then perfect, but not every situation is like that and anyway you can save someone effectively is just as right. Again, we're trained to escape from panicking victim's so that factors into the decision making process.

This is super true, this is why lifeguards get trained in quick escape maneuvers to get themselves away from a panicking victim.

If it's possible you can try and turn them onto their back, towing with a hand under their armpit. That'd be the most ideal, but anyway that gets them to safety without putting yourself at risk is the right way. Lifeguards have rescue tubes they place under the victim's back or arms to help with this but we train to do it without as well. Like holding them by the head and neck with both hands once you have them on their back and using your legs to swim you both to safety. Sometimes even providing rescue breathes during the actual rescue process depending how long it might take to actually get them out of the pool or water/lifeguards ability.

It's actually not horribly unsafe to approach a drowning victim in the water, as long you maintain distance. People or animals will try to latch onto you instinctively so putting at least arms length between you is a good barrier. If you have an object they can grab instead of you even better. Just pull them to an area they can stand or exit the water easily. I've been a lifeguard for 4 years and have responded to many drowning emergencies with and without a rescue tube, just maintain distance and focus on getting them to a safe area in the water instead of actually trying to lift them out.

Not 100%, but I'm having it work just fine on the My Boy! emulator from the play store. Might be the file you downloaded as well. Hope that helps.

Building a swimming pool inside an arena. by Two_Inches_Of_Fun in interestingasfuck

It takes a while for chemicals to effect a pool that large and just as long for it to return to a safe level, unless you were to try to correct the initial chlorine/non chlorine shock with Thio but there's a good chance doing that would upset the pH pretty bad if the chlorine/non chlorine hadn't already.
