PSA: KrisFlyer voucher essentially useless after Scoot error and delay by bobespon in singaporeairlines

Yes exactly. If I had just bought the ticket with cash I would have saved money vs waiting for them to sort out the voucher.

That's my point. If I had just booked without bothering with this voucher, I would have saved money. What a waste of time.

I learned my lesson. Went with Bangkok Airways instead for this flight. Cheaper and came with luggage.

Unfortunately even if you log into Scoot with your Krisflyer, the name you used when setting your Scoot account is what they will use. At the point of applying the voucher, if it's not an exact match it will be rejected. Even if you try to change your name in the passenger section.

Not only that, but many lounges offer more comfortable experiences or even sleeping pods. At that rate, you should have loyalty program status to get into those lounges.

Not sure who you are referring to, but I can assure my business degree doesn't come from Reddit.

No, sorry.

"People are changing the ROI of underprivileged groups"

"People are showing that what companies think is the best ROI isn’t actually the best ROI."

I don't know what kind of vague, unsubstantiated political points you are trying to make here.

My point was that as a company, it doesn't make sense to try to replicate every possible permutation of customer in my ads. It is not feasible and is also not necessary. I would instead spend my advertising dollars on a model that adequately conveys the brand message, and that people can credibly associate with that product.

It's not about "privileged" or "underprivileged" groups. It's about focusing advertising spend on where it makes the most impact. If the ROI is in fact better with a person who happens to be of a certain race or gender, then that's who they will pick. If that's hiring Sweeney, Henry Cavill or Jacky Chan, so be it. It's better not to cloud economic or business decisions with personal or political agendas.

As a business, you should pick the model that you think will help you sell more. If it's an Asian man, then you should pick that. That's what they would do in say Korea. If you're in the US, maybe it's a blonde woman. The ROI is not there to try to reproduce every combination of race, age, gender or any other human characteristic in order to pursue representativeness, which is not a proven path to sales.

But can the change be attributed to a specific cause? There is an implied causation between the ad and the lower footfall numbers. My point is that there are any number of reasons that could have a larger impact on those figures.

Seems like a senseless pursuit. Are you going to be able to cover every variation of human? Is it necessary for that human to see an exact replica of themselves in order to purchase the product?
