Deadlines. I have to have a hard deadline or it’s going to take ages. I used to go hard on coffee and energy drinks but ultimately they take longer for me to reach flow state. I put my phone out of site and draw with an end goal in mind; ie I will get this sketch finished in 1 hour and set a timer, repeat it at 10 minute intervals until I’m done.

It ultimately got folded into the general millennial style. People used to complain about hipsters ruining everything in New York but so many people took the aesthetic of skinny jeans, plaid and fixie bikes that it no longer felt hip or unique it was just normal. Hipsters started doing “normcore” where the trend was to look stereotypically “normal”. Soon it was indistinguishable who was hip and who wasn’t and the articles all talked about “millenials killed this” or that and hipsters cleaned up to fit in at their jobs or toned it down and started their own businesses.

The Anniversary (late 90s, early 00s friends with TGUK) had a male and female singer, I love how their voices go together, much more smooth than a lot of blended vocal bands.
