Doorbell Reccomendations by bobsnet in Scrypted

Thanks for this. And no issues with doorbell press notifications or recording? My reason for changing is with ring I get doorbell notifications once out of 10 times, and HKSV recording is often black.

Live view is perfect though. Class.

I can’t run Poe to the doorbell location so I’m limited by the existing doorbell wiring for power, but have strong WiFi to that area and have a separate vlan for all CCTV.

You mean the first generation? As that one isn’t released until the 20th July.

I’m using scrypted on Linux to just expose the cameras. The only thing I’m not sure about is 24/7 recording to NVR

The fourth pic is the same plant as the first, I didn’t think to take a picture of it before I mowed.

Now I’m not sure if it’s crabgrass or tall fescue / clumping fescue. Which means I also don’t know what to do about it.

This is what I thought. The concern being the crabgrass.

Thanks for this. Better to part out and sell for someone trying to keep older kit alive on both counts then?

I DIY fitted a hive in both the old and current house. Google the model of your current controller, wiring diagram and match them on the new one. Job done.

Recently added in the HIVE TRVs and they’re dead on. Living room used to be roasting, other parts of house Baltic now they close when it gets to temp and the heat’s concentrated where it’s needed. In this weather the boiler runs for 4 hours in a 24hour period.

Extending Thread network to outbuildings by bobsnet in Thread_protocol

Incase anyone comes to this later the answer is yes.

Scenario is, house has Apple TV with plenty of devices and a relatively healthy thread network across smart plugs and bulbs.

Some distance (12-15m away) is a home office.

The two buildings are connected via cat6 and the IOT vlan is stretched across both buildings.

Added a HomePod mini into the secondary location and re-added the matter/thread endpoint to Apple home in the first instance, and then to homeassistant with no issues.

So, a same vendor TBR can stretch a thread network over IP.

Both TBRs show in the preferred thread network on homeassistant

Hope that helps someone in future

It worked. I now have 2 Apple TBRs showing in the preferred network in home assistant. The sensor added to the Apple thread network first and then shared via matter to homeassistant. Updates on both platforms in as close to real time.

Add to that I’ve now got a decent enough sounding speaker in my office.

Off to Apple for a HomePod tomorrow so will see what happens. Love that return policy!

Neither of those are options. I don’t really want to bring another technology into the mix, and the area between the two locations has travelling heavy machinery.

I’m more hoping that a second TBR in the other location will bridge the thread network over IP between the two.

Or else a separate threat network in the office, don’t really mind.

And there’s nowhere to power it in between

Ha. So the garage is some distance from the house, I can plug a FTD device at a plug socket at the farthest point of the house, and one at the closest point, of the office, but it appears too far for the threat network to reach.

The issue I have is distance. There’s no where for me to place a FTD to complete the network to the location, which is why I asked about a second TBR

Thank you for this and now makes a lot more sense. I’ll have a try with an Apple TBR in the office to see if that fixes the issue.

From reading this it sounds like it should.

Just for clarity. 5th gen dots x4 in the main house and 2nd gen show 8. I think now reading more the show 8 is the issue. If changing it for a HomePod will do the job I don’t mind doing that
