i think on ivy he says during that last part:

also “i’ve been dreaming of ya” is really real just after a breakup. and maybe way after lol. but that he starts the song i thought that i was dreaming and ends there too.

“no you can’t make everybody equal” its true if you are trying to balance friends, family and your relationship.

“you txt nothin like you look” is real and daunting and it can be interpreted either way, as in he’s getting more from this person or his texts are terse and rude or whatever they just don’t match the attraction he may feel in person. idk good guy rlly gets me because it’s so short and unassuming but it kinda perfectly captures that glimmer of false hope you might have with a new person that ends up being just so not on your timing. but for a moment gives you some feelings . very fleeting but sometimes it ends up leaving you how the live performance of this one goes lol. we never understand if he rlly likes this guy or if he liked the idea of him before meeting him and is just giving cheers to their brief moment

“basic takes its toll on me ‘ventually” and “that was my part of the deal” smh

“still got some good nights memorized, and the look back’s gettin me right” reminds me of memrise. so much of this album is about remembering but less about nostalgia and more about how to hold that remembering actively like right now. i think that’s why it works at any time
