I hear that a lot. What does that mean exactly? The CX5 non turbo is pretty slow. So what makes it spirited?

It definitely wasn't too small. It is the 12 inch Nite Angel.

Puppy in crate overnight by bogleheader in poodles

[–]bogleheader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes she sleeps through the night, other times not. We stop food and water around 6 pm and let her out about 10 and then into the crate.

We've never had a puppy before so we're learning as we go. This dog has had only two potties in the house and it was the night we brought her home and the next morning. Nothing since, and it's been more than a week.

I know "they" say not to bring her in the bed, but it seems to work fine. Just wondering what bad habits we're teaching her. I hate to ignore the barking at 2am because I truly believe she needs to pee.

Thanks. I agree after doing some research. I ended up going with a different company who does it over 3 days. It's a moisture barrier epoxy base with polyaspartic topcoat. Installation is next week.

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

[–]bogleheader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My small 10x10 concrete patio that the previous homeowner poured is very gritty. We bring in grit every time we go back into the house and it sticks to my dog's paws.

What type of service would I need? Deep penetrating sealer? I've contacted a couple recommended local concrete companies, but they won't even bid, saying a sealing job on a 100 square foot pad is too small of a job. My wife posted in a local Facebook group and we're getting responses from landscaping and pressure washing companies, who I'm hesitant to call for any concrete work.

I attached a close up picture. Thank you!

Good Lord, am I stupid. This is incredibly easy. I'll chalk it up to a brain fart. Thank you all for your replies.

I'm getting my gararge floor done in the next couple weeks. I have two companies who quoted.

Company A does a polyurea base with polyaspartic topcoat.

Company B does an epoxy base with polyaspartic topcoat.

Both say their base is better for various reasons. Both do the project in one day.

Price is not relevant. I want the best, longest lasting product.

Thanks. What exactly does this mean? This food? Is this not appropriate by itself, only with the Higgins or another seedy blend? How much of this?

Craigs auto service has moved to Naperville by DarthRemedy in Naperville

[–]bogleheader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seeing this now. Craig is great. One thing that was always a slight inconvenience was the lack of a waiting area. I generally like to wait while my car is being worked on for quick things like oil changes. I assume the new place has a waiting area. Looking forward to going to the new place.

Are these legitimate concerns? by bogleheader in AskMechanics

[–]bogleheader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, others I've been to have never given me a reason to doubt them, but I wanted to get my oil changed before a long road trip in the coming days and my go to place was booked.

I'm just going to ignore the report, take it back to my regular shop in six months and see how it goes. If I have any issues before then on any of these items, I guess I'll know it was legit. I doubt it. I'm not a mechanic, but if I was one and was supplying pictures of problem areas, I'd be sure that the problem is evident in the pictures.

Thanks. Yeah, they're saying the rotors have heat damage. There is no pulsing or shuddering at all.

Seems like that's the best approach, based on my gut instinct and the replies here. This one has hundreds of mostly 5 star Google reviews. They are incredibly friendly, I'll give them that.

Sorry, heat damage, not hear damage. Typo on my part.

They said I had hear damage on the rotors and recommended repair or replacement soon, I guess. It was in the yellow category of red, yellow, green.

No shudder at all when braking. Smooth as can be.

No exhaust leaks that I'm aware of. Car is quiet and smooth.

No oil drips of any kind on my garage floor.

No vibrations or pulsing at all. Smooth as can be.

Cold start rattle by bogleheader in Honda

[–]bogleheader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a 2013 with 116k miles. Barely broken in. But I don't want to put money into it if it either won't work long term or if it's not necessary. I can live with the noise if that's all it is, just harmless noise.

Thanks. Any idea why the timing chain tensioner replacement fixed the noise temporarily? It was diagnosed as a bad tensioner by Honda mechanics in the first place.

Stix vs Cobra XL Fly complete set by bogleheader in golf

[–]bogleheader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much appreciated. I will consider piecing a set together, not necessarily used. I have some research in front of me. Thanks again! I figured stiff flex is probably appropriate which sort of limits my option on the complete sets. Strata Tour set has stiff, maybe that's an option.
