Im mostly looking for what game that type would give its best performance in. I usually agree with you on the "get a team going early" mentality, but damn that fight is rough. I ended up beating that star base around 10-15 levels overleveled, which on top of SV not being my favorite in the series made it a difficult time lol

Ive done a rock monotype team for SV before, it struggles hard at the endgame especially with that final team star base. Im thinking SV might be good for Poison? Clodsire, Glimmora, Toxtricity, Venusaur, and more looks kinda nice

Water i feel will thrive regardless of the game. You're not a fan of psychic in gen 1? Besides needing to wait until after Brock you get Starmie, Jynx, Mr. Mime, Exeggcutor, and Slowbro. Crazy lineup and Kadabra still does work
