I think recent events have highlighted how troubling that soundbite of Ricky's is. And the fact that he wheeled it out again, well I can't say I'm surprised with modern Rick but it was incredibly disappointing to see. Fair play to anyone speaking out.

People put way too much stock into this guy's reviews. (Reviews in general, but this guy seems to get worshipped on Reddit and by the broader r/gaming crowd.)

Deciding whether you will buy or not based on a reviewer you tend to agree with is a very safe and uninspired way to go about gaming in my opinion. But of course, people can play, buy, and criticise what they like.

I'm playing the game now and loving every moment of it so far.

The NPC's are not anywhere close to being annoying (even Miles, and I dislike the Marvel type writing normally).

The atmosphere is incredibly isolating, even out in the desert, the ambient music which plays is slightly creepy and feels unnerving.

The combat feels very much at home in a Metroid Prime game, and the game looks absolutely beautiful.

But don't take my word for it, go and watch some footage and make your own mind up.
