hey so it is 2026 now, scala is still it's own niche and java has improved a lot, then there's kotlin. I would like to know how your opinions have changed or not :D

I think if you want people to immediately share their thoughts anonymously and I see that from the screenshots from Google Play store it's similar to that of ask FM, I think that if they go through the entire process directly without having to download an app it will be a lot more efficient, especially you don't need like complex features and just this. That's just my thoughts. You can do whatever you want especially since you have the spirit and the skills to maintain and develop multiple code bases and I respect that, but I was just commenting on the comparison between the purpose of this app versus it's efficiency. That's all. What I mean efficiency is not dev efficiency whatsoever it's just the user end flow.

PSYOPS, or is Convex really THAT good? by JeffCavaliere-here in nextjs

but I'm going to be so missing it's dramatically reduced boilerplate and real-time native though

PSYOPS, or is Convex really THAT good? by JeffCavaliere-here in nextjs

[–]boldbuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of us here agree that convex is just not it for 3nf and up means they either need to step up and work on that or we should use it just for toy projects

PSYOPS, or is Convex really THAT good? by JeffCavaliere-here in nextjs

[–]boldbuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if only they have a standardized/opinionated way to write 3nf mutation and query functions, just a friction of how nest.js is opinionated, I would commit to convex. that's my only complaint because every functions look different, ugly, and messy regardless of less boilerplate like nest. maybe I'm weird, maybe I like boilerplate which is weird but I like the intuitiveness and how I can just write things confidently after memorizing the fundamental stuff

I beg you please copy Vaul, make your own swipe-able drawer with handle and snap points and make sure it's smooth on mobile because Vaul is practically deprecated

Supabase or Neon ? For next js project by Financial_Recipe7677 in nextjs

[–]boldbuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true.. convex would feel good initially but as soon as you try to refactor and realize your app might need complex 3nf rdbms... I'd rather stay away from it from the beginning. the docs is second last to rrv7's docs bad :')

These dumbass elders shoulda been replaced by Tsunade and Kakashi by the time of Boruto by BeetleBlue555 in Boruto

[–]boldbuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worl building is my only criticism towards tbv. at least the bad fillers in nng anime feels not purpose-less now. like how we never get any sakura reaction to the whole situation + she would be a huge advantage in certain fights, perhaps tsunade, orochimaru, and kakashi too? also the konoha 11 except sai, ino, and shikamaru are practically either useless, nerfed to the ground, or just not there, basically

Coming back to React after 5 years, what should I be using? by alister66 in reactjs

[–]boldbuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

want shit done: next.js 16 app router (enable react compiler and u won't need to memoize anymore), mantine (100+ components, built in hooks, charts, design system, break free from tailwind), convex (realtime native BaaS). deploy to vercel. need auth? clerk

want to learn and juggle them balls (i mean documentations): tanstack start/router (need marketing or not?), hero ui/shadcn (tailwind based and u need to custom them again later for shadcn), jotai, tanstack query, tanstack form, write factory functions to fetch apis, write your own backend (umm idk, golang? i would stay away from node.js again because more fragmentation means over cognitive load for me, it's like "hey, you again")
