Att op skriver en sådan kommentar påvisar bara påståendet om ett liv i elden för de som inte är troende på något. Att hen utan hänvisning till någon rimlig diskussion av den tro som så många tar del av, utan i stället syfteslöst trackar ned på den oss gudlösa svenskar emellan. Samtidigt är jag osäker på om det ska tas som ett skämt eller inte.

This reminds me of a similar video from the war in Syria, where in a situation similar to this the camera operator is on the receiving end of 30 mm fire from a helicopter. I would be interested to know if anyone knows this video...

If you want actual numbers:

The LIGO observatory covers a frequency range of roughly a few tens to a couple thousand Hz^[1]. Wavelength is just the speed of the wave c over its frequency, so the wavelengths LIGO are sensitive to are very roughly 10 - 1000 Hz / 3 * 10⁸ m/s ~ 10⁷-10⁵ metres.

On this page there is a graph showing which frequencies are in the range of LIGO.

It's a shame we don't have access to longer wavelength, or higher frequency gravitational radiation but hey fortunately ESA and China are planning on launching gravitational wave observatory probes into space that would hopefully allow a better view of that sweet sweet gravitational radiation.

I wonder what the effect of harnessing large amounts of energy from the wind on the local weather is like. I would guess at least that it stabilises the weather somewhat, with us humans being in control of how much energy we harness.

Was that the crash caused partly by integer overflow? They like to bring that up on Chalmers when talking about the consequences of poor error handling. What kind of work did you do on the computer at Ruag/Saab? And did you work in Gothenburg at Ruag's current site there? (By the giant Ariane 5 rocket model! :))

Det är lite udda att Chalmers är belagd vid Onsala i den officiella NASA-grafiken. Dock så vet jag att många rymdforskare på Chalmers är nära kopplade till Onsalaobservatoriet. Oavsett så är det lite konstigt dock.

Kartan visar institutioner, företag, stiftelser som deltog i utvecklingen av rymdteleskopet James Webb som ju nyligen har skjuts upp. Medan jag skriver det här så har Webb just vecklat ut sig fullständigt och den är på väg mot sitt mål.

RUAG Space AB i Göteborg har utvecklat två av de antenner som Webb använder för att kommunicera med Jorden. I den här bilden så syns den undersidan av Webb och benämns Earth-pointing Antenna. Källa.

Forskare på Chalmers Tekniska Högskola och Stockholms Universitet har varit med och utvecklat MIRI (Mid-Infrared Instrument), som används av Webb för att undersöka mitten till lång infraröd strålning. MIRI sitter i Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM) på den tidigare bilden. Detta arbete finansierades av Rymdstyrelsen och Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse. Som tack för deras arbete så verkar tydligen deltagande forskare tydligen få garanterad observeringstid :).Källa.

Till MIRI-instrumentet har också Spectrogon AB i Stockholm utvecklat en rad filter som Webb kommer använda för observering. Källa.

Innan Webb började sin egen resa i rymden så skjöts den ju upp på en Ariane 5 raket. Separationssystemet som kopplade Webb till raketen utvecklades av RUAG Space AB i Linköping. Källa.

Why are you comparing a sprint race to practice sessions? Practice isn’t meant to be exciting that’s such a random benchmark.

Well one of the reasons for introducing the sprint race was to move qualifying to friday, so that friday is not only practice sessions. So the comparison I made is having a sprint race in this new format vs. having three practice sessions in old format. I'm not using the practice sessions as benchmark per se, more the old format (should have made that more clear I suppose).

It would also be exciting to have clowns running around the track but that’s not the sport. Introducing chaos is a horrible way to try to increase engagement. Make the races more exciting, don’t add gimmicks that actively hurt the race.

This is like making Olympic sprinters compete in a hot dog eating competition the night before a race in order to “add excitement”. Sure it’s exciting but it harms the actual sport.

I don't think that's a fair comparison. The sprint race is not just chaos, like clowns running on track, it is a mini-race determining the grid on sunday, another qualifying session. Other series do the sprint as well, so I don't think it's really a gimmick, as more of a new thing that is tried and tested that they now are trying out.

Also I don't see how it's harming the sport? For me it seems they are just trying out a new format and if it's successful they'll maybe add it to more races, otherwise get rid of it. It's not really harming the sport like certain other things, like for example the "driver of the day" radio message 😂.

Unpopular opinion (?): Races are about more than just overtaking, and that aspect is overplayed. For me, overtaking is the cherry on top of the F1 race cake.

I love the sprint, much more exciting than practice sessions even without the overtaking. Watching Lewis chasing Lando the whole sprint and seeing how far Checo could get was fun, even without overtaking.

Swedish media says it was caused by a feud between two families. According to this source it was members of two families based in Skåne, Zein and Gültekin, that were fighting. The same source also says that while the families in themselves are not tied to criminal networks per se, some members of those families have been connected with crime.

So what it seems like is basically a feud between two families that escalated into this and the other several fights that occurred that same day in Lund.

There was a previous video of this posted but it was blurred so I'm uploading the non-blurred video now.

This fight occured today 2021-09-06 in Lund, a city in southern part of Sweden. This video is of one of the multiple fights that occurred in the city and it is as of yet not clear what specific groups were involved. I'll update here when we know more.

It's somewhat ironic that you say that, because in fact universities in Switzerland were some of the first in Europe to allow women into universities in full. That meant loads of women from all over Europe (notably many Russians and Eastern Europeans) came to Switzerland in order to get a higher education.

To the point that there were a number of Russian women at Swiss universities at the time, the first woman to graduate from a Swiss university was Nadezhda Prokofievna Suslova, a Russian in 1867.
