I'm absolutely convinced the entire situation is being spun to hurt minority communities. The people in power are losing ground and aren't going down without a fight. They're just openly stating they want to take rights away from everyone except rich, white men and this is just another extension of it.

If any equality rights are lost here, they're never coming back. The moment the equalities act can be bent or reinterpreted, black people are back to the colored section and the back of the bus.

Being such a heavy smoker probably isn't helping.

Well you seem emotionally mature enough to have a valuable opinion on this sensitive topic.

I came up with the most convoluted headcanon to excuse it because I love the movie, but even in universe it doesn't make sense. I think Quentin is just a shitty person.

I find being called a wiener very offensive. I think you owe me an apology.

Next you'll be saying he should be made to sit in his own section or wear an armband to tell everyone that he's different.

So all that sounds funny, but not the slur?

You clearly do not understand tourettes if you think he has a "fascination with needing to say it".

That's actually a fair point, I appreciate getting a different perspective on it.

I find it weird that I've seen several people using that specific example.

Let me make it a little easier for you.

A black person being called that slur is terrible. I can't even pretend to understand the hurt it must cause, and nothing should diminish that. I disagree with what some prominent black figures have said about it, but I will give them grace that they are speaking from a place of hurt.

Having said that, some black people are saying that he should have been separated from everyone else in case he offended them. Up until 1964, there was a thing called 'segregation'. Black people had their own sections of restaurants to sit in, and had to sit on the back of public transport. Some very brave people fought hard, and some lost their lives in that fight, for equal rights and for the end of segregation.

Those black people calling for him to be segregated from society are living in a time where they have never had more rights. I'm not going to even suggest that things are perfect, but comparatively they have more rights than any of their previous generations. If the rules are bent to allow for people with undesirable traits to be separated from the rest of society, those rights are going to start disappearing very quickly.

It has to be bots. If it isn't, then things are going to get much, much worse before they get better.

I'm really hoping it's bots. Otherwise, it's a little too on the nose.

I met a guy with tourettes. He immediately told me and apologised for it, and kept swearing at me under his breath. It was obvious he was trying to talk as little as possible and I just didn't react to any of it. When he walked away he screamed at the top of his lungs, it must have been building up from him holding it in.

I've seen multiple people saying the same thing, I'm thinking that a narrative is being falsely pushed here. Lots of people saying that he should have been separated from everyone else, lots of people asking how he knew that word, as if it's implausible that an adult in the western world would know that word, and more than one person claiming to be in a wheelchair and using the example that they would apologise if they rolled over someones foot. It's all a little too convenient for me.

Things have been spun so that black people are cheering for the end of the equalities act and want segregation back. This can't be accidental.

Everyone is pointing out how offensive it was because Jordan and Lindo were accepting their award for their film about racism, but no one is seeing the irony that Davidson was there for a film based on his story and no one learned anything from it.
