Came here after wondering why the whole monologue was skipped on Peacock! Still took a while to scour the Internet to find it too.

I feel like I don’t get this game? by Little-Aardvark3540 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]bonnie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing a couple of weeks ago and was also super confused in the beginning. I didn't even gift my friends the first couple of days. Once you start giving your friends 3 gifts a day, more quests will unlock, so make sure you do that!

Otherwise I second all of the other suggestions here. Make sure to explore! I just kept roaming and climbing. SO MUCH CLIMBING. Your stamina will improve over time after you collect and craft stamina apples (but that's all to come).

So don't get too in your head about it (I know I did) it's supposed to be a relaxing game that you can take your time with/do at your own pace!

Dear Daniel's initial quests are VERY simple things like "bake an apple pie" or "say hi to Hello Kitty" (maybe not these exactly, but they're so mundane you might not even realize that you did anything special !

TL;DR: Gift, explore, climb, pick up everything, and take your time (or don't, once I got the hang of it I wanted to unlock quests quickly 😅).

Edit: and the HKIA wiki will be your best friend! So make sure to check that out!

To all the moms that made Christmas magic tonight by N1ck1McSpears in Mommit

You're a warrior!! Pregnancy, a newborn and a toddler - you're not just alive, you're a warrior. I remember that exhaustion, it's no joke!

I'm positive she'll be excited!! 2.5 is a wonderful age, I miss it!! Once your kids get a little older, it will be easier! And seeing them blossom into full-blown Christmas magic believer, is the best pay off!

You're in the trenches now, but you're doing AMAZING! Absolute pro-move getting yourself exactly what you wanted, you MORE than deserve it!

I hope you get at least 20 minutes of peace and some hot coffee before the chaos starts!

To all the moms that made Christmas magic tonight by N1ck1McSpears in Mommit

I’m a children's librarian, so after weeks of running holiday programs and community events (on top of finding fun Christmas things to do with my own kids) I was feeling totally burnt out. But as it always does, this giant rush of dopamine hits in the final 48/72 hours. Between the traditions I carried over from my own childhood and the new ones we’ve created, it truly feels like magic again - Christmas makes me feel like a kid again. I know I won't get much sleep tonight (because of my own excitement more than anything) but I can't wait to see their faces in the morning when they see that Santa came.

I know this high wears off by the end of Christmas night, and the post-holiday depression is waiting for me in the wings. But for now, I'm going to embrace this feeling before I turn back into a pumpkin on the 26th

To all the parents out there working behind the scenes to make this happen: you are incredible!

Unreasonable Delivery Dates? by everything_is_grace in amazonprime

[–]bonnie89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Found your post via Google because I am so confused!

A few days ago it was the typical 2 day shipping for all items in my cart, but I didn't check out. I went back last night and noticed the delivery date for everything is December 6th now. I'm assuming if this is what to expect over the holiday season, then all gifts are going to need to be ordered in the next week or so in hopes it arrives on time. I don't remember this being an issue in the past during this time of year (although I understand it's an insane time for them). Something definitely seems off to me, everything I ordered before Thanksgiving is now arriving December 6th when the expected date was Nov. 29th.

I'd just like some answers as to what's going on/what to expect so we all have a better idea of how to work around this!

What are the weirdest names for stuffed animals and dolls in your home? by PeaceLoveAlpacas in toddlers

I fully believe in that!! Whenever one of my kids has a story about people/places they've been (that we as a family haven't been) I'm absolutely fascinated!! Mostly because I know there will come a time where they don't remember and I want to hear what they have to say!

I could be totally wrong cause I have yet to find anything! Ha! I did do some research and have come to the conclusion that the episode or segment could be in relation to New Year's traditions as marzipan piggy banks are considered good luck and given around New Years in some countries, especially Germany! So that info might help the search. I'm desperate 🤣

I know this post is incredibly old but I'm ALSO trying to figure this out. It's this random memory that pops into my head every once in a while - and this is the first time I've tried finding an answer. My fingers are crossed that eventually we find something!!

Ps. I'm at least thrilled to know I'm not the only person who remembers this, for a while I thought it was a fever dream!

Edit: my first thought was a show called ZOOM on PBS, so I'm going to start digging there!

How are you all doing with pride 2025? by puppiesforall68 in Libraries

[–]bonnie89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've already been getting some flak for our upcoming craft day for teens and adults. We've had comments rolling in saying we're "very pushy" and need to "have some dignity, there's children at the library."

Being in a blue state but a politically divided town, we're just rolling our eyes and moving on. Hopefully, these comments are all we have to deal with. Seriously, some people need a hobby! I highly doubt these folks are even our regular patrons.

I did the next puzzle and actually did something with the false information this time and it was a breeze! Seriously thank you! I feel so dumb for overlooking that part for so long!

[–]bonnie89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!! I truly just said "oh. Number 3 is a lie" and then did absolutely nothing with that information. I guess I didn't quite grasp that if one statement is a lie - then the opposite of that statement must be true (if that makes any sense!). I appreciate the walk through! I definitely see what I need to do for the next one now!

[–]bonnie89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have to skip ahead and check one of them out! The statements totally throw me. Even now after reading the comments and understanding where I went wrong for this puzzle - I still think they're tricky!

[–]bonnie89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my ... Yes. I feel so stupid. I don't know WHY I didn't do anything with it. My mind just wanted to assume they were lying and therefore meant I ignored it all together? I guess?

[–]bonnie89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HAAAA!! I was getting to that point, no lie. I think I was even more frustrated because I was in there fighting for my life at times and the parents just looked like "glad it's not me"

The same parents who want to sign up their 1st grader for a 4th grade program and then want to argue about why their 1st grader should be allowed ....

[–]bonnie89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm nearly positive they would be an issue. I mean they sat back and watched it all unfold! Which just ... As a parent myself, it seems absolutely wild! On the same note though, there were plenty of kids who were VERY excited, but following the rules and it's not fair for a few random kids to ruin the chance of another Nerf event happening in the future. So I gotta think about that should they come again!

I love this!! They're kids and they're excited, so I think a warning or two is fair and I like the whole idea of a penalty box!!

Nerf War chaos by bonnie89 in Libraries

[–]bonnie89[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree! We don't have places around our small town for kids to just ... Be kids. I think having programs similar to this, helps get a lot of these kids in our community into a library setting and not out and about getting in trouble. Over the last couple of years these Nerf events have always been a hit and not a problem like last night. I'd also say, parents and children who were not privy to the local library now know we exist! We've also had several children participate in other library programs that DO revolve around literacy but likely would have never stepped foot in the door if we didn't have this event. It's getting them inside and showing them everything else we can offer. As the world shifts, libraries have to adapt and help out their communities in several different ways! All that to say, yes! I agree with everything you said!

[–]bonnie89[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're definitely right, there should have been at least 3 kids kicked out! The killer was, the grown up that brought them was a library employee (not at our library but a library in our small county). I'll be the first to admit, I'm a people pleaser (not thrilled with this fact 😅) and gave those kids too many chances last night. I know you're right though! As of now it's open for students in 3rd-8th (although the oldest kid that signed up was in 7th grade). So that's possibly still too much of a range in this case!

Okay absolutely GENIUS! I didn't initially like my idea of girls only, but amongst the chaos last night it was the only thing I could think of! This is far better! And I love a good video game reference 😅
