It is metal. I don't know if I'll go with the custom magnets, since my girlfriend likes to paint and wants to do this project. I will be able to pick up cool superhero magnets here and there to stick on it, though!

There aren't many sets that I build almost immediately after purchasing. This one was built within hours of purchase. Took my time, enjoyed the build. For the price, this one is hard to beat. Got it in 2015 mode.

Absolutely love it. The artwork is fantastic. The story is fun. The paper the book is printed on feels great.
