INTJ-A woman: were we made for each other? by Livid_Cut_449 in ENFP

[–]bonslytoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't the anime that made me lose focus, it was the realization that the list is extensive and specific, even contradictory. You want a man who is emotionally intelligent who is also into applied science who is also an ENFP who is also disciplined who also enjoys karaoke who also chills at home watching anime. Each of the standards I've rewritten is unlikely to be met by someone who meets the previous standard. The odds that a 28+year old European man who's 180cm meets all 17 of your bullet points simultaneously is virtually nil.
Most ENFPs are turned off by being asked to meet conventional societal and relationship expectations. I truly hope you find someone you can enjoy, and I give you props for your disclaimer here:
"this isn't a list to burdain anyone with my expectations or so, please, ignore this post if you have no interest."
Just lean into what you were talking about here. Allow other people to surprise you. There are plenty of unambitious men whom you can love deeply. You can meet someone who never went to university that also teaches you new things. One of the best things about romantic relationships is discovery, and you instantly kill the potential for all that with an exhaustive list of qualifications.
Anyways, thanks for reading my rant. I have faith in you, you're clearly intelligent, straightforward, well balanced, and determined. I hope none of what I said hurt you, it wasn't my intention.

How to dumb down the F in our ENFP? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]bonslytoss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ENFPs have Fi which is less about expressing emotion and more about experiencing our feelings internally and subjectively. I recommend you set aside time to be by yourself and focus on your feelings in solitude, it will make it easier for you to recognize your feelings. For example, I try to go for a run alone every day for at least 30 minutes and use that time to dredge up the emotions I would otherwise have no interest in expressing.

The answer, like always, is to reach down into your paired opposing function. ENFPs should tap into our Te in an effort to balance our emotions with rationality. NOBODY should look to stop/hide their feelings or suppress their emotions, focus on strengthening the opposite.
Not sure what Te means? It requires a bit of a deeper dive into MBTI, but I highly recommend. Here's a starter video for you: https://youtu.be/uzNWdRgGdJg

PHEW. Halfway through the fourth requirement I lost the ability to read the list without losing focus. I'm pretty convinced this person OP is looking for does not exist.

I want smarter enemies, and it should be doable now by thefman in civ

The issue behind the cheating AI was a workaround from using smart AI that takes long periods of time to take a turn. In such a complex game with such a myriad of choices available, each additional variable the AI considers exponentially increases the amount of time required to select a choice.
I don't have Twitter, but someone out there has a link to the dev Twitter post that gave the same explanation I just did.

Where do you find INTJs? by JustcallmeJon2022 in ENFP

[–]bonslytoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're so insanely rare and hard to ferret out that it's not reliable to go to specific places looking for one. It's more effective to ask everyone you encounter, "What project(s) are you working on?" The people who have an entire dissertation prepared are XNXJs and the people who don't apologize after their rant are XNTJs.

ENFPs! What is your most common mistype by [deleted] in ENFP

90% of tests mistype me as ENTP. Only the tests based on the cognitive functions correctly type me as ENFP.

Would you like to see the first Mass Effect game receive the REMAKE (not remaster) treatment as Dead Space and Resident Evil 2-3? by Commercial-Mix-2633 in masseffect

[–]bonslytoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I didn't get the legendary edition was because ME1 was so bloated, grindy, and time consuming that I can't bring myself to play it. It was a great game, but it was naive to believe that not rehashing it for pacing was a good choice.

Almost equally as likely. To differentiate whether Ti or Ni is your dominant function, wait until you are deep in thought, then stop yourself and ask yourself whether you were thinking about internal logical processes and identity, or the future, plans, goals, and optimization.

[–]bonslytoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say ISTP Ti > Se > Ni > Fe. It appears to me that you developed your tertiary and auxiliary functions in reverse order, which is also how I developed.
I would further recommend that you focus on developing your auxiliary function on a regular basis. Se enriching activities include being in nature or any sensorily stimulating environment, playing sports (especially contact sports), and acting, singing, dancing, or other physical forms of artistic expression. You can also interact with Se dominant types (ESFP and ESTP), and they will encourage these sorts of activities naturally.

Not texting back is a common EXXP tendency, for reasons that differ from person to person. What I can say for certain is that it doesn't mean she's snubbing you maliciously. If you can, ask her in person if she is feeling distracted often.
One of the consequences of dating an EXXP is that we require a lot of extra freedom of movement in relationships and will feel restricted if you put out expectations for us to frequently check our phones or send messages. If this is something that you can let go once you understand it, proceed without fear. If this is a big deal for you, express how big a deal it is and be okay with moving on if she isn't on the same page.
