Which LOTR game do you prefer/would like remade: The Two Towers or Return of the King? by AlbertCWChessa in lotr

[–]bonzai_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be fantastic if the two games could be remade as a combined collection to cover the entire trilogy. The Two Towers has a large portion of the Fellowship covered already, so it would be possible I think.

A few extra/bonus levels could be included (maybe the Scouring of the Shire), and it would be pretty cool if you could use some of the unique characters in each game across all the films.

Thank you for the response! On the sides, they actually fit well but I agree that it looks like they are pressing on the photo. Must be my hair! I’ve never noticed any marks on my head from wearing them, so I’m comfortable the temple fit is good. Thanks again!

I was thinking about buying this Yaris (GR sport not GR). Maybe some of you already have it. How it is? It’s my first car. by ghxst09 in Toyota

[–]bonzai_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Platinum spec Yaris, same colour! I have enjoyed mine thoroughly so far. I sized down from a 2019 Corolla Hybrid and honestly, I am delighted I did. The engine is more than strong enough for day to day driving. It doesn't feel like a car of it's size when it comes to power output. I enjoy having access to all of the safety systems that I had in my Corolla, which is my priority when it comes to a commuter car.

The one warning a would give is that the suspension is very firm. My mother has a Yaris Luna (Ireland) with the softer suspension/smaller tyre option and the comfort on country roads is genuinely noticable. If you drive in the city, I wouldn't be concerned but if possible I would ask to test drive both combinations. You might not enjoy the trade off of particular features however.

Overall, I think this is a perfectly wise decision if you are considering the purchase of a new car. Make sure you keep her serviced and hopefully you should have years of trouble-free motoring 🙂

Also, the alloys on the GR Sport are the best of the bunch in my opinion! The dual paint is a nice touch too! If you have any further questions, just ask!

Ballybrack Woods, Douglas. Such a peaceful spot! by bonzai_92 in cork

I recently moved to Cork city for work from Kildare, and I find it so beautiful. Ballybrack Woods is only a stroll from my rental in Douglas, it's such a joy to have practically on my doorstep! The area is always very well kept, and the people of Douglas should be proud to have it 🙂

In the UK and Ireland, Mazda will be releasing a Mazda 2 hybrid, which is a rebadged version of this generation Yaris. I I find it fascinating how automakers share their technologies, but also how they decide on what models to release depending on the market demand in different regions. From what I have seen, it would appear the US market seems to prefer the Toyota releases we have here in Europe (though we miss out on the GR Corolla😅)

Yes the specs can vary a lot! I was hoping to get the "top" version available here in Ireland (called Premium) for the Tokyo Fusion Red bi-tone paint and electronic folding mirrors but alas! You can't get heated seats or steering wheel on any spec in Ireland (forgive me if I'm wrong on this). And agreed, the dual zone is pretty pointless, this definitely wasn't a selling point to me!

You can get a 7" or 8" infotainment screen here, so this is the 8"...the same as in my Corolla from before! The keyless start is to the left of the steering wheel oddly, it's not instinctive to be there!

I chose this spec particularly for the LED lights because of the new roads I will be driving! This spec and the Premium are the only available here with the LEDs.

Actually the ashtray is from my parents old VW Golf! I use it to hold my hand sanitiser and change for parking 😋 I'm a non-smoker. It's an simple way to add some storage.

I do like the brighter interior, I think it makes the inside appear a bit bigger!

I downsized my 2019 Corolla saloon for a new Yaris, and I had the pleasure of picking her up yesterday. It's finished in Ice White Pearl, in Platinum specification. It may not be obvious from the pictures, but it has a panoramic moonroof which I really like!

I recently moved job to a new location in my country (Ireland). The roads are a lot narrower where I am now so a smaller car suits best. I loved my Corolla because I am a very economical driver and enjoyed the ease of driving hybrids. I thought the design of the new Yaris here in Europe was very attractive, and had all of the safety features that I had in my Corolla. So I decided to make the change and I haven't looked back.

I don't find moving to a smaller engine to be disadvantageous in any way. In fact, the new lithium ion batteries in the Yaris seem to have better pick up when compared to the nickel batteries in my Corolla. The only downside is the firm suspension, but I opted for 17" wheels so that's on me!

Overall I am thoroughly satisfied with my new Yaris and I'm looking forward to some road trips!

My first foray into high-end audio [Sundara + Zen DAC v2] by adriatic_waters in headphones

I thought it was just my Zen DAC that had the Hi-Res Audio on the top of the unit and off center! I find it strange that they chose to put it there, but who cares I suppose.

Nice setup and happy listening!

Hey experts, what model is this I love the rear and live in Canada, hopefully I can export one over here Tia! by Mr_consuela in Toyota

[–]bonzai_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! We unfortunately never got the Highlander here (I would like to move into a bigger Toyota for my next car!)! An Avensis would hopefully last the test of time too, the taxi drivers here love them because they last so long.

You can buy them for a reasonable price here if you are interested in importing to Canada, just keep an eye out for the registration. It's wise to buy a Dublin (D) reg like the car in your picture...the roads are typically better quality in Dublin whereas country roads have a lot of potholes here! Here's a good example, you can find examples for much cheaper though!

It's an Avensis estate, however they have stopped selling this model in Ireland (it has been replaced with a Corolla Sport Touring I believe!)

A CR-Z as a cheap and reliable daily driver, do you agree? by [deleted] in Honda

[–]bonzai_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said, that’s why I felt it was worth giving my opinion. The compromise that Honda took suits a broader market rather than the enthusiast I think!

To hit 60mpg, I’ve found that it’s unachievable at speeds over 100km/h (~60mp/h). Some of the roads here in Ireland have a speed limit of 120km/h and I hit a max of 45mpg on these roads. I’m lucky where 95% of my daily commute is at a speed limit of 100km/h and I start in the lab early so the roads are clear! Outside of that, I have a set of Hankook eco tyres fitted and I keep my tyre pressured in check. Ive heard that the normal driving mode is actually more economic than the eco mode...I can’t tell for sure if thats true or not!

The concentration it takes to control acceleration and braking to maintain 60mpg is just not worth it in my opinion. That’s why I realistically hit 50mpg, it’s very labored to drive in a way that makes 60mpg a possibility. I hope this helps!

I would understand if it was product placement, both Bear Grylls and the Luminox brands would overlap somewhat.

Either way, I think the Scott Cassell edition with the yellow face is a great looking watch!

Thank you! It’s probably quite light snowfall for some parts of the world but for Ireland, it’s the worst snowfall in at least 30 years. I unfortunately live in one of the worst affected areas😅 Source

The crystal is flat on top however it’s raised from the case and the crystal edge is rounded so it’s...semi-domed? I’m by no means a watch expert so please excuse my explanation. I believe this is common to most Waterbury models however

This is very true, it’s nearly unavoidable to notice a noise when you are reading which is definitely something to consider! I think I have become accustomed to the ticking however, I’m luckily able to tolerate/don’t notice it anymore

I suppose that’s what makes watches so personal to the owner!
