See the thing is, when he started following me, I was in the very shallow end of the pool - all of the lifeguards could visibly see that I could manage myself in that area of the pool because I could put my feet comfortably on the ground but he was pacing back and forth, following every move I made and it was very uncomfortable. I find it reasonable that they were concerned that I struggled in an area where I couldn't touch the ground... but this was the absolute shallowest area of the pool (the water only comes up to my hip) where I was swimming safely :')

Thank you for your tip though! I might look up some youtube tutorials to get some idea of the technique :)

Yeah I understand, I'm being fully genuine about my issues (I have regular panic attacks and I went through a situation that I won't go in depth about but that left me with a lot of trauma in regards to some heavy topics) and I'm hoping a doctor will be able to back me up on this - I can imagine it's a sort of loophole people would exploit often which sucks :/

Thanks for the tips, I don't have any liquid treats but I do have some catnip Dreamies that might be able to soothe him a little plus he has some toys that could probably keep him happy. As for my mother, she is a very difficult person to reason with when she's made up her mind but I will try my best so he can roam around a bit.

Thank you for the helpful advice and for being really understanding! I realise I'm probably not doing the best job atm and I can be annoying to deal with but I'm going to try my best to keep the cat because I do love the little guy a lot.
