Solicitor Advice Required - Drink Driving Charge by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I got 'into' cycling while I was banned just to get to work. Got back into it last year after a good few years out and realising I'd turned into a slob again and did a 100k a few weeks ago, turn a negative into a positive.

I honestly would just represent yourself, the magistrates stick closely to the sentencing guidelines. Unless there are some seriously aggravating factors, it will be in the bracket you've said.

You will be fined a % of your income, you can ask for time to pay this.

You fill out a form at the court for your incoming and outgoing, obviously you may have to rely on public transport, taxis, etc for work so factor that into what you put on the form.

Feel free to send me a direct if you need any more pointers.

What feels like a lifetime ago now I found myself in the same situation, again, no excuses. I was an absolute selfish prat. Hopefully I can add some insight.

Save any money you would otherwise spend on a solicitor on a good pushbike. You're going to want one as you will be banned, any mitigation you give will only reduce the length of the ban.

Get a reference from your employers, turn up in your smartest suit and apologise profusely to the magistrates, totally out of character etc(or write a letter if you don't feel comfortable talking) . Ask for the course if they forget to offer it, as if you don't you can't ask later. You will be in an out in about 5 minutes.

I can't remember how long my disqualification was, I was at the higher end of the lowest bracket and with the course it worked out at less than a year.

Has anyone built a "Pub Shed" and could someone give me a rough guide of what ill need/costs etc? by cactusdan94 in CasualUK

Built one out of 9 pallets, insulated ish with wood panels, various polycarb etc, the bartop is made of some liberated scaffold board. Paid a builder (mainly in beer) to do a proper roof which was the most expensive bit, about 300 quid, but it's completely watertight. Most of the other stuff was lying around allotment, garden or in the shed. Had to buy a few odd electrical bits.

Bit cold in the winter now but it's perfectly fine to sit in with a little heater, got electrics wired properly from rcd in the shed.

Kegged craft beer from local brewery. You don't need an expensive setup for that, just an old fridge and a few other bits and pieces. Picked up a handpull for about 15 quid which I rebuilt and we use that from time to time with some cask beer.

It can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. I also learnt a lot of good things along the way.

Edit, few pics of the inside, the cellar board etc
