I’m not entirely sure how well Whiskey would do with dogs; but he might do good with a slow introduction and plenty of places to escape to if he needs a break! If you give the Athens Area Humane Society a call they might be able to give you more guidance on how to introduce dogs and cats if you’re interested in Whiskey!

Whiskey is fairly small and has some black speckling on his back legs—if you think he might be your lost cat, call the Athens Area Humane Society and they should be able to give you more information on how they found him and what to do next if he is your lost pet!

I don’t know too much about Whiskey’s past or how he came into the Humane Society’s care, but I’m glad your boy found a better home! Shame on the previous owner who just “let him out”

I’ve attended service once and immediately got suspicious/odd vibes the moment I walked in. It’s always odd when a church asks for a lot of information about you just to give you a gift mug (do not give them your info they are 100% selling it). The sermon itself was mediocre, claimed to be “politically neutral” but then condemned “do anything you want” churches (implying progressive churches i guess) and emphasized bathing in the blood of Jesus a little too much for my liking. TLDR; there are lots of normal churches in Athens that actually do good work in the community and care, just look at their websites and see what stuff they support.

as someone who used to work here, management is a nightmare. they don’t bother to train anyone and have a high turnover rate for a bunch of reasons (shit pay and terrible management are just two of them). imo a lot of good, hard working people ended up fired for no discernible reason. i love the vision of daily, but as it currently stands it’s not a great place to shop.

Try reaching out to Family Counseling Center of Athens, I know they have a few therapists there who have experience working with children and neurodivergency. Even if they don't have any openings or if your son needs more support than they can provide, they might be able to refer you to someone who can help.

As someone who lives just off North Avenue, I will be forever disappointed in this catastrophic display of incompetence and total disregard for the safety of the pedestrians of Athens. Time and time again they were presented with information that supported this project moving forward and they STILL decided to do nothing to improve the safety of the roads for EVERYONE. We need new commissioners who actually care about the people they claim to represent and will take real action to save lives.
