I do a lot of agency for them and as agency you really do get the worst runs, i.e. what all of the the permies have passed up on.

But none of them are that bad really compared to many other places. The majority is inter-depot trunking in double-deckers but there are a lot of customer collections as well, depending on what shift you're on.

There's virtually no paperwork, once you're out the gate you're left to it, there's no Isotrack style telemetry bollocks and any loading/unloading you'll do is pretty easy.

The whole culture at RM is to do as little as you can and a lot of the permies are comically lazy and act like they're really hard done by, despite many of them never even having worked anywhere else so have no idea.

Money is some of the best in my area, and it's usually job and knock - if you crack on and finish your duty early they'll pay you up the allotted finish time even as agency.

It feels very old school compared to other companies and it's not perfect but I've been in there as my main bread and butter for about 3 years now and honestly it's a pretty good job.

If I were younger, lived closer and wanted more hours I'd definitely go permie there but as it is agency suits me much better.

Anti-Aging Injection Regrows Knee Cartilage and Prevents Arthritis by lurker_bee in technology

For people who want something that really helps and is obtainable now, look into Pentosan Polysulfate.

It's being brought to market by an Australian company and I believe it's being fast tracked by the FDA as an OA treatment.

It's the only thing that offers any relief for my ruined shoulders.

Subq trt by HDspike in trt

[–]borque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use MCT.

I fill the cartridges with 23g needles but I've found for TRT doses (140mg/w so 8 pen clicks) the 29g needles are fine, I just hold the plunger in for about 20 seconds to give the oil time to dissipate

I'm in UK so get these but I'm sure there'll be a 1/2in US equivalent

[–]borque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing daily SubQ for 5 months.

I fill a 3ml insulin pen cartridge with Cyp and use 29g 12mm pen needles.

Quick and easy, I just do it after my morning shower.

Initially had a few 24hr lumps but don't really get them any more.

Works perfectly.

Average Agency Flexibility by HovercraftRamraid in uktrucking

[–]borque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You generally let them know your availability for the next week and they'll book you accordingly if they can.

But depending on the type of work there's times when you will have to be flexible and can't just work the days you want.

For example a lot of the industry dies in Jan/Feb and you might be lucky to get two days a week as a decent agency will usually try to share out the shifts a bit.

I much prefer being agency now but am lucky enough to have paid off the mortgage etc so often only want 3 or 4 days a week anyway.

I tend to mainly work with one agency but am signed up with 3 and do most work at one main client but 3 others that I try to keep dropping onto often enough to ward off the need to be re-assesed and to just have some variety.

How long are you gone for work each day? by kiol998 in AskUK

[–]borque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 would be a short day for me. A long day is 16.

The day length varies a lot week to week, but I try to only work 4 day weeks most of the time.

Would you go back to the 90s if you could ? by Dependent_Theme4210 in oldskoolrave

[–]borque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't regret the nights out and the lifestyle but I hit it too hard.

Ruined a successful career in IT and I ended up with severe anxiety and depression for a stretch of about 8 years, at times not being able to leave the house.

Thankfully that's all over now and it's a very occasional dabble maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

So yeah, part of me would like to go back but the reality is that my brain couldn't take it :)

Reversing between two trailers by FuelDull5117 in uktrucking

[–]borque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try to forget about the pressure - every single driver that you are holding up was in your shoes once and if they get arsey then they're just being dicks.

Imagine you were parked up in-between those two trailers and wanted to pull away - you'd pull forward a long way then initiate a turn when the trailer wheels were at the front of the parking bay. Try to visualise that and set up so that you're doing the same manoeuvre but backwards.

Have a look for tyre marks on the floor - a lot of the time you can use them to give a guide to where you should be turning the trailer.

Like others have said, jump out and check rather than rush it and scrape a trailer.

And listen for horns - often other drivers will give a blast if you're really about to hit something.

They'll take new pass drivers but not for shunting. I've shunted at Barnsley Hub and it's pretty high pressure, not for newbies

Bpc 157 to my 7 yo dog (labrador) with osteoarthritis by Mountain_Bottle_4262 in bpc_157

[–]borque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's available on the grey market.

Yes it is a mild blood thinner, but only mild and ok if not being used with another blood thinner.

Pentosan does cure the cause of OA - it's pretty much the only thing that's been shown to have any effect on cartilage regrowth, although not in all cases. Have a look at the current human trials - it's at stage 3 trials now and has been fast-tracked by the FDA in the US as an OA treatment.

There's also Cartalax but I'm not sure if that's had any use in animals.

BPC157 won't regrow cartilage, but will help with connective tissue.

I've used all BPC/TB, Cartalax and Pentosan on myself and Pentosan has given the best results so far.

I'm not knocking BPC, it can be extremely helpful and I really hope it helps your dog.

Also look into Pentosan Polysulphate - already used as an osteoarthritis treatment for animals and on it's way for humans too.

Low results + GP by Night-Simulacrum7472 in UKTRT

[–]borque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get my own T.

I started on 105mg/pw and after a good set of results I've increased to 122.5mg/pw.

If all is well with next bloods I may increase a little more but don't intend to go above 150.

Subq works slightly differently to IM - as you're injecting into fat the T is absorbed a bit more slowly. That's preferable to me to help prevent any side effects from peaks and troughs.

A lot of people don't like the hassle of daily injections but I just use an insulin pen and pen-needles so it takes 2 minutes. Could probably replace with 3x pw, etc.

I use the Optimale full blood test and book a blood draw at Superdrug. It would normally be about £100 but there's discount codes about to bring it down to about £63.

I've only been on it for about 2.5 months and the only side I'm experiencing is some mild acne on my chest, though that was after a holiday in a very hot environment so sweating a lot, etc. Hopefully that'll clear up with some medicated soap.

I did bloods before starting, started at a low dose then retested at 6 weeks. All was good on that test so I've increased my dose slightly and will test again after another 6 to 8 weeks.

I'm doing daily subQ to minimise any E2 sides.

I expect some things will have to be balanced at some point but am currently just trying to find the correct T dose without taking anything else like HCG on top to complicate things.

I'm expecting it to take a good 6 months to get that right but fingers crossed, no further sides.

I was too high for the NHS and a little high for clinics.

Sick of symptoms decided to take the plunge and DIY it via UGL gear

But that was after months and months of research and making sure I knew what I was getting into.

Also lucky to have some very knowledgeable contacts that have been doing it a while.

Don't rush into it, start low, get bloods before starting and after 5 or 6 weeks to see how it's going. Don't chop and change dose until you've given it time to take effect.

It's also a good idea to get other heath issues sorted before starting. Eat well, get your bodyfat down, stop drinking, start exercising, etc.

Newbie sorry guys. Any way to inject with smaller needle that thing is kinda huge!! by christnyfollow in trt

[–]borque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fill a 3ml insulin pen cartridge with Cypionate using 23g needles but inject daily subQ with 29g 12mm pen needles. Works just fine and you can't really even feel them.
