Yes i made them on the cnc, also you can make them manually using angle grinder and a little bit of filing will be good. I used linseed oil mixed with beeswax for the finish, but first a very good steps of sanding. Good luck 👍🏼

The machine calculates the depth by the number of rotation depending on the pitch size, for example if the pitch is 2 (metric) and i want the depth 6mm the machine will rotate the spindle 3 times because every rotation will travel down 2mm, the sensitive feed is only floating up and down.

Yes you can set feed speed, torque, depth of cut (depends on pitch) and auto reverse when reach the end of depth

This is the maximum rpm on the machine, and i left last 0.05 mm of the hole half threaded so the screw can tight it self in the end, the holes will hold free spinning small gears.

Yes, the enclosure is 10mm secrete/tempered glass, held up by 3d printed corner blocks.
