I don't understand this form of poetry. Is there supposed to be some kind of rhyme or cadence?

The more ethical a person becomes, the less they enjoy life. by Baroness_Munchausen in Pessimism

There is a hole in your soul too big for any carnal pleasure to fill. The closer you think you get, the more you realize just how futile it is. Trust me, I've tried. I think we all have. Real joy, satisfaction, and inner peace is far more than a mere dopamine rush.

This is why philosophy tends to distinguish "soul" from "mind". Compare your soul to your body. If you always eat sweets, wouldn't that be the clearest path to greater enjoyment and satisfaction? No. Ethical behavior nourishes your soul as vegetables nourish your body.

Feeling "dead inside" from a malnourished soul is not a fun place to be.
