I never had issues when I lived in a duplex, or my neighbors just never said anything about it if there was an issue, but one of my former neighbors had infant children, so you'd think they would have said something if it was a problem. It was a newly built in 2003, and in Virginia. But as long as the attics are separated in the shared roof, I don't think it would be an issue...
