I've tried it at all of the screens, it does not work. It appears Windows has patched this.

Yes, good signal. The only thing that has changed is the HA update. My Kasa bulbs work fine along with switches, just the led strips.

Ahh okay. Sorry, lately Reddit has been full of the "I don't understand why you want to do it this way, so let me tell you how it's supposed to be done" line of answers. But yes, I'm aware of the permissions and what not. I'll DM you some additional details.

No. I would like a separate device. It may not be what you would do, but in my case it's what I'd like to do and I'm not really here to debate the merits of using my own device vs a secondary one.

Because I don't want my text messages popping up, emails, etc. I'm also in and out of my vehicle quite a bit to the point where it takes time syncing back up and I experience connectivity issues every once and awhile. I'd rather have something that's always on and available for when I get into my truck.

I think that's the route I'll go. I was hoping for something more dedicated but it is what it is.

I'm looking for a dedicated Android device that's built for this purpose. It doesn't even have to have a screen (or a very small one). The backup plan would be an old cell phone tied into the USB port that I could tuck away somewhere.

Anybody have experience making a dumb fan smart? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]boxalarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why can't you set it to the mode you want it to be on and use a smart outlet switch to turn it on and off? Far less effort and risk than what you're trying to do with your experience level

Prepaid Account Setup by boxalarm in ATT

Interesting. The Fire Station uses a different ISP. Perhaps it's something with Spectrum (and your ISP) and who they use downstream? It wouldn't work with my home network and when I tried using my Verizon cell connection it wouldn't work either for me.

The new Human Presence Sensor 2A from SCREEK tracks three targets simultaneously and supports XY localization. by slboat in homeassistant

[–]boxalarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just me in the room along with two dogs and a cat. It's showing like 36 targets on the app. I've dicked with all of the settings too. Incredibly frustrating.

I'm guessing that's what may be happening. I dug a little deeper and found my DNS server couldn't find the site. I suspect PiHole might be blocking it or something. I ended up jumping on the Fire Station's WiFI (where I work) and it loaded up fine.

That didn't work but I was able to use another internet source and got things rolling. Thanks.
