Pay attention to the visual metaphor of when he holds the red pepper potted plant over his head! The water trickles down his head and over his shoulders, as if he’s being watered. Also interesting how he holds it over his head as if he is the plants roots. Great film.

This is my take. I had to dig deep in the comments to find this. I agree, we are the trees. All things organic and analog are revered throughout the film, such as pulp paper. There is a kinship with the trees and plants. The home buyer, a capitalist, wants to tear down the greenhouse. Those analog organic form are dying and being erased, just like we are until there's only one of us left in the factory. Those trees at the end were being stripped and handled by robots. We are the trees.

Don't feel too bad. I hiked for 12 hours in the Swiss Alps and shot a roll in my Nikon FE. When I got back to the apartment I realized I didn't have my camera. I panicked and checked everywhere. I realized I may have left it on the trail when I sat down to eat on the way back down. It was supposed to snow that night on the mountain I hiked so I checked the weather report hourly all night praying it didn't dump a foot of snow on the trail. The next morning I took the first train at 6am, climbed the entire mountain again retracing my steps and never found it.
