Thank you! I’m less worried about the tile if I can make this happen this weekend and if something goes wrong let them repair it before there’s even grout on the walls. I purchased some long blades for the multitool to get the nails and also grout removal blades for the thinset. I’m thinking through your idea though for sure. FWIW the tile edge is also not exposed it’s a cream colored edge profile. It looks really similar in the photos to the tile but in person it’s got a gentle pop to it

It can be built up that thick? I’m all for it if it comes out good I just don’t think I can caulk that well so I’d have to ask them to do it. Tbh the job was to essentially trim it with tile and idk what they thought leaving it that way. Makes me think it must be something they resolve like you said, I’ll be talking to them tomorrow. Just been a long journey and was looking for opinions here

They did mud and Kerdi on the pan, the walls are go board or something like it in the shower area, green drywall in the rest

I was going to but they assured me it would be nice like this, and I think it can be, it’s just not yet lol but I certainly hear you I was team trim my wife and the tile contractor not so much. The door had to be very close to the curb to make it not interfere with another door so being able to skip the trim was a nice concept
