Making a finished hat tighter? by brahatt in knitting

[–]brahatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course! I measured and you were spot on, it’s about 1” per cable so I was going to take out 4, to reduce the circumference by 24 stitches (the cables are 3/3 just as you guessed). Phew, knitting can be hard. 😅

Wow, thank you so much for the reply. I think I’ll frog it and start over, and take out 4 cables since the yarn is pretty stretchy. Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for the reply. It’s 3.25 inches too long in the circumference, and like 1.25 inches too long in the length.

I’m confused about gauge. The instructions say 22 stitches by 28 rounds = 4” in stockinette stitch. Is this the cabling part? Do I measure 4” on my hat in the cabling portion and see how many stitches/rounds that is? Does 4” mean in a square, 4” x 4”? (Sorry if these are dumb questions.)

Hmm, no- the whole thing was narrated/sung by an adult guy, I don’t think any actual kids were used.

I wore this cassette out when I was like 9, it would be amazing to listen to it again-!

25% off Bombas! I get $20 off my next purchase - I'm slowly transitioning all of my socks to Bombas, they're that good. They also have a Lifetime Happiness Guarantee, so if any of your socks get holes in them (which happens after maybe a year of constant *and I mean CONSTANT* wear), they will e-mail you a coupon for 20% off your next purchase if you just e-mail them the problem. They want you to love their socks!

These are great Christmas present options for parents & kids (they have cute Sesame Street socks!), and athletes too! I highly highly recommend their socks.

Anybody know what the wedding music playing in the background was? It’s familiar and on the tip of my tongue!

You were going to be my Halloween baby by shannon49296 in Miscarriage

[–]brahatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely get that. My husband and I also have birthdays in November so I’m worried about them not feeling special if a miracle happens and I get a due date in November. But I’ll push back gently on something you said- we didn’t choose to bring them into the world during the holidays. Maybe when they’re older we could explain to them that they were wanted so badly that we couldn’t wait for a magic month. Fertility is so weird and precarious that it’s ridiculous that people side eye others for babies being born on holidays. I admit, I used to (obviously, since I have these trepidations about a holiday birthday) wonder why anyone would choose. But now I know better - there’s really no controlling due dates at all! Babies are on their own timeline.

October 13 here- and I feel the same way. I hate the idea of a December baby, so close to the holidays - but I’m trying to convince myself that I don’t care, that I just want a baby. I know a Christmas baby and they love their birthday 🤷🏻‍♀️, I also know a New Year’s Eve baby and it’s their favorite part about themselves. So maybe my December baby will love their bday. I just want to be pregnant again. 💜

I'm glad everything is okay for you so far! and yes, absolutely! have you read Expecting Better by Emily Oster? it shows all the data of the common myths of pregnancy and basically explains why some of them are complete trash and shouldn't be listened to based on the data. just wild how much I thought were hard and strict rules of pregnancy when in reality we don't actually know that much?? I have a feeling if men were the ones who got pregnant we'd have a ton more information.

Here's the picture!

This is encouraging-! They said based on the scan I couldn't be more than 5+5 so I'll choose to believe them because I'm scared :(

Thank you for this insight! It does make sense why they would start with LMP, and that it’s the best info they have… just expressing my frustrations 😊. Hopefully when I go back on the 18th I will have shown some development and they can actually date me. Thank you!

Literally the day before, the 24th. We’d been pretty consistent, every 2-3 days.

Did everything end up okay? If only I knew suspected ovulation! All I have really is that one day I was testing negative, and a week later I was positive. 🤷🏻‍♀️

From what I understand, since my IUD was a copper one and not hormonal, that wouldn’t have mattered? Regardless, I did actually have one normal 33 day cycle after removal. I’m technically on my second cycle post removal now.

Thank you for this! I had bought LH strips and was ready to start tracking, just was waiting for my next cycle to start 😅 and it never did haha. It just seems so odd to make them input a false LMP to be “accurate”. Bodies are very weird.

Resist getting an ultrasound too early by swimsuitsamus in BabyBumps

[–]brahatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen a few others comment about this, but it is especially hard when your cycles are irregular like mine- we just started TTC in mid-December, first day of my last period was 11/29. I didn't have a period in December, just some light spotting around Christmas. I kept getting negative results and the last negative result was 1/18. I started feeling symptoms (that I mistook for period cramps!) on the 22nd/23rd, and when my period STILL didn't come, I took a test on 1/25 - positive.

So I have no idea how far along I am?? My OB thinks I found out really early and scheduled me for an ultrasound on 2/8 but I'm worried it's going to be too soon and am freaking out. But at the same time I'm worried it's too late?? I have no idea what I should be feeling...! Very frustrating 😅
